ABB INSTALL TENSOR FOR ACCESS CONTROL

ABB has a long history in providing Process Control Systems. Trade names include Accuray, Bailey, Kent, Taylor, and Sattcontrol and these make up the foundation for today’s ABB process control system platform. One of ABB’s manufacturing sites is at St Neots, Cambridgeshire where they employ 450 full-time staff.

They have had a Tensor WinTA access control and fire roll call system for a number of years. It controls the main door, the works entrance and 4 other doors within the site, including the production area, which is controlled for security purposes.

Sonny, the main user of the Tensor system said “Tensor offers good quality with a reliable service! The thing I most like about the system is the reliability. We have very few problems with the system and Tensor’s Smart Cards are very robust”

ABB use WinTAs’ Fire roll call software when they do fire drills. “It works, no problems at all” explained Sonny.
