BRIGHT FUTURE FOR TENSOR WITH BRITISH OPTICAL

British Optical Ltd has an enviable reputation for being World leaders for the supply of Optics for Entertainment Lighting, rod moulding, Reflectors and Projection Optics. Their main operation is based at Aldridge, Walsall.

British Optical's Accountant, Alan Clark, was in charge of getting a new Time & Attendance system to replace their old Blick swipe card system. They wanted to replace the Blick system because of the high maintenance cost, but had to wait until the long (5 year) contract with Blick had expired before they could replace it.

Alan looked at the different systems available in the market and narrowed his choice down to Tensor and another company. He finally chose Tensor because of price and the stability of the company. The possible other supplier had changed their name which worried Alan, so he decided to purchase from a stable company to ensure that British Optical would get continued support.

Tensor installed a WinTA Lite system in November 2003 and the system was up and running quickly. British Optical have a variety of shifts and WinTA Lite is run by Alan and the wages clerk. Alan said 'We find that using the basic generated reports in WinTA Lite gives us the information we require but we may customise the reports in the future'

'The Tensor system cost us the same amount as Blick wanted in maintenance!' exclaimed Alan, 'Tensor as a company is efficient, reliable and friendly. Their WinTA system is reliable and cost effective' he said.

Alan came to Hail Weston for training and said 'The training was good as it was one to one with the trainer and I felt that I had got the true benefits from it'. He also said 'I like the system and the software, but especially the fact that we can get the information we want from the PC, when we want it. We also use the mimic panel feature in the software so we can instantly find out if someone is in or out'

British Optical have used the Tensor Helpdesk and said, 'They were very good. The only problems we had were due to us using an old computer, but when this caused problems we never lost any data and we could always get the clockings from the clock'
