CG Interiors Ltd is a leading and fully approved multi-disciplined builder operating throughout London and the Home Counties of England. It is part of the CG Group which employs about 160 people and is based in two parts of the country, with offices in Essex.
Originally formed in 2001, the firm specialises in housing regeneration, refurbishment, demolition, multi-trade packages and Decent Home Programmes – a government scheme which is making improvements to around 3.6 million tenants’ homes so that they are warm and weatherproof with reasonably modern facilities. CG Interiors’ clientele includes local authorities, housing associations, NHS Trusts, schools and government bodies.
In 2009, Director Jeremy Hartland, was reviewing how he could improve the access control to the various buildings in which they were working and also at the same time how he could record employee and contractor attendance. Scanning the Internet, Jeremy came across the Tensor plc website and saw our leading range of smart card and biometric access control and time & attendance security systems. After a demonstration of the Tensor WinTA system he decided to install a modular Tensor smart card Time and Attendance system.
Jeremy said that the installation of the hardware and the software in 2010 “went without a hitch”. He was trained in the use of the system at their premises and said the quality of training was “very good and very comprehensive”.
At CG Interiors, using smart card technology, the clocking readers provide swift and secure entry method for authorised personnel, who can then book jobs, holidays, absences such as a doctor’s appointment, or flexi-time. He told the reporter that Tensor smart cards are “extremely easy to use and operate. They give us peace of mind for their reliability”.
This is because unlike swipe systems, there is no need to remove the proximity read smart card from a wallet or purse to use it. The card is automatically read as soon as it is presented to the scanner, typically within ¼ second. The smart card microchip is a passive device which holds a unique factory encoded ID number that cannot be duplicated, making it very secure indeed. As a smart card enters the clocking reader's electromagnetic field, it is automatically activated by the field's energy.
Jeremy said what he liked most the Tensor system was “it enables the staff to quickly book in and out, making the process more efficient; and the software it makes the jobs of our wages and human resources departments easier”.
CG Interiors have used the Tensor help desk and said the service was “helpful; and very knowledgeable”.
Jeremy said he would recommend Tensor to other companies and summed us up by saying, “Tensor offer a very professional and reliable service”.
