Fresh Food Kitchen manufacture and distribute a unique range of high-quality, chilled foods from their factory in Londonderry, Northern Ireland. These foods capture all the freshness and goodness of homemade products. During early 2003 the Managing Director, Mr Bob Tyrrell, wanted a new time and attendance system to replace their existing clunk-click clocking machine which was laborious to process the transactions and open to abuse.

A couple of local companies as well as Tensor were considered for supplying the new system, but Tensor was chosen because it had ‘as standard’ a link to their Sage Payroll and could be installed by their own IT people. Another key reason for going with Tensor was because it was more “Cost Effective” than the other suppliers.

A WinTA LiteTime and Attendance system with a Sage payroll link was installed in 2003. There were no problems with the hardware installation and initial software installation problems were resolved quickly by the Tensor Helpdesk staff.

Carol Bradley of Software Support and Catriona Doherty the Company’s Financial Controller, were trained at Tensor’s Training Centre in Hail Weston. “Very Useful” was how Carol described the training to the Tensor reporter.

Carol went on to explain how they use WinTA Lite for Time and Attendance and for monitoring lateness, along with the holiday and the absence tracker. “I particularly like the reporting aspect of WinTA Lite plus the holiday and absence planner” said Carol. She also said, “You cannot go wrong using the Tensor Smart Cards, they are very simple to use – ideal for food companies.”

Carol has used the Tensor Helpdesk and described the service as “Great.”

Fresh Food Kitchen will be extending the system when they move into their new purpose built building. This will include Access Controlon a number of doors and additional clocking points.

Asked what she liked most about Tensor, Carol said “Day-to-day running, easy”. Would she recommend Tensor to other companies? “Yes, but do have the training” was the reply.

Summing up Tensor in a few words Carol said “very professional, listen to their customers, software customisable, personnel very helpful and very good service”
