CENTRAL LONDON HOTEL BOOKS TENSOR

The Paragon Hotel, situated in Earls Court, London, chose a Tensor Smart Card access control system when they wanted to bolster security on their staff entrance.

The hotel has over 500 guest rooms, serviced by around 130 employees working many different shifts to cover the 24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation. Before installing the Tensor WinTA system, the staff entrance was left open which could allow any member of public into the staff area. Although the hotel was guarded by security cameras and security personnel, they felt they required extra physical security for the staff entrance.

'Tensor installed the system without any fuss or problems' said the Chief Engineer of the hotel, Del Brough. He commented, 'because we never have any problems with the Tensor system we forget it is there. The only time we have ever had to phone the Helpdesk was to report a Smart Card scanner that had been vandalised. Tensor responded and the scanner was repaired very quickly'

Hotel staff use the Tensor T1316 Smart Key-fobs instead of the standard Tensor Smart Cards. These are given to them when they join the company. Once staff have been instructed on how to use the key-fobs they find them fast and easy to use. 

Geraldine Edmonds, the hotel's HR assistant manager uses the system most and said 'I like Tensor as it's easy to add and delete employees and we never have any problems with it.' When the system was 1st installed Geraldine received her training from Tensor at the hotel 

They also like the Fire Roll Call as it allows them to check that all employees are accounted in the event of any emergencies.
