LB PLASTICS INSTALL TENSOR WINTA

Until Tensor, they used a manual punch-card clocking system which caused many problems, such as the amount of administration time required to calculate employee hours and the practice of 'buddy punching' where employees clocked each other in and out of work. 
Employees also used to move their clock cards whilst stamping them, in an attempt to smudge the timestamp if they were late. Clocking in/out was slow and sometimes there was a 20-minute wait at the end of the shift; just to clock out.

'We opted for Tensor because of speed of their Smart Cards and the price' said Nicola Bird, Personnel Manager of LB Plastics. 'We looked at other systems but could not find one that would handle our time and attendance requirements. Some offered extras we didn't want and were expensive' she explained.

LB Plastic installed a Tensor WinTA system comprising 3 main Smart Card clocking stations with a further 4 slave readers at their main site. Further clocks and Smart Card readers were installed at the other two sites to track employee Attendance of their 450 strong workforce.
Employees really like using Tensor Smart Cards. They are fast and they can check what time they clocked in or out on the display.

Being a plastics factory, the real-time Fire Roll-call feature of WinTA is of particular importance. 'We can see at a glance who is on site and we test it with the fire alarm every week.' they said.

Nicola received two days training at the Tensor Training Centre in Hail Weston, Cambridgeshire. 'We like the Tensor system and had no problems getting it operational. It's simple to use and the working rules for shifts can be easily set up.' She said. 'When we have used the Tensor Helpdesk they have always been able to sort out any problems that I had"
