Maidments Solicitors is a firm of solicitors comprising around 100 staff at 6 locations in the UK. During June 2003, IT Manager, Andy Sanders investigated the possibility of installing a Time and Attendance system to record attendance and to monitor movements between the offices and the Courts and also to monitor and control expenses.
He looked at the products from three companies, two of which he considered to be significantly inferior to the one he finally chose – Tensor plc. “My experience is that Tensor are a very professional organisation; web site - excellent, cost - within budget and I like the idea we can ‘Self Install’ or get Tensor to do it for us” explained Andy.
Tensor’s Flag Ship System, WinTA Enterprise, was installed at four of Maidments Solicitors sites from October 2003. During the interview with our reporter, Andy described how he particularly likes the way in which WinTA Enterprise is “network able” and the way it fits well into a multi-office environment.
“Tensor Smart Cards are ‘wonderful’ when compared with mag. stripe and bar code based badges”, said Andy, “Members of staff have found them very easy to use”. Andy has past experience of using mag. stripe and bar code badges when he experienced a high failure rate with these type of badges. Interestingly he has not had any failures with the Tensor Smart Cards.
On a couple of occasions Andy has had cause to call the Tensor Help Desk. “Very pleased” was the way he described the level of service; and about recommending Tensor, Andy said “I would definitely recommend Tensor to other firms of Solicitors”.
Finally summing up Tensor in a few words Andy concluded “very professional, very efficient, always there for you - you never get fobbed off – and I can’t fault the equipment in any way whatsoever”.
