Tensor and the Land Registry

In 1994 Facilities Manager Howard Green, of the Peterborough office, was in charge of finding as new Time & Attendance system for their 500 strong workforce, some of whom were based in London and lawyers who regularly attended the offices. The new system was to replace a PlanTime system. PlanTime, part of the Securitas group, used a unique set plastic keys which employees put in a lock and turned to log in or out. "The problem with PlanTime was it had moving parts that clogged up or snapped off and was therefore more prone to breakdown," said Howard.

Tensor sponsors Children�s Hospice

Tensor were contacted by two executives from Luton Borough Council regarding sponsorship desperately needed for a charity event in aid of the Luton based Keech Cottage Children's Hospice. The two executives, Frank Harrison, 40, and colleague Mike Girle, 52 planned to cycle the 906 miles from Land's End to John O' Groats to raise funds for the hospice.

Maier Use Tensor

Payroll Manager Tracey Door and Mark Ray were in charge of finding a new Time & Attendance system when the UK part of the Spanish company Maier started up in Burntwood near Walsall. After investigating what was available in the market they elected on Tensor and a WinTA and WinPM system was installed in December 2000. This was further upgraded to a WinTA Enterprise and Personnel Enterprise system in November 2002.

Alan Stubbs, Information Systems Manager, "Although I wasn't involved with the original purchase, the reason for buying Tensor was to replace a manual clocking system which took too long to process the time cards for the 450 strong workforce." Volex looked at many systems and chose Tensor for three main reasons, Value for money, Speed of Tensor Smart Cards and the ability of WinTA to maintain training records.

Tensor installed a WinTA Lite system in November 2003 and the system was up and running quickly. British Optical have a variety of shifts and WinTA Lite is run by Alan and the wages clerk. Alan said "We find that using the basic generated reports in WinTA Lite gives us the information we require but we may customise the reports in the future" Alan also added "Tensor as a company is efficient, reliable and friendly. Their WinTA system is reliable and cost effective"

Fran Boome, Personnel Manager was in charge of finding a new system. She said, "We wanted a system which would allow us to collate employee timekeeping information from all 4 sites and process it in one payroll system at our head office in Yaxley. We were very impressed the demonstration from Tensor. We had many questions, and they answered them all" WinTA Enterprise and Tensor Personnel was installed in November 2003. Fran said "We think Tensor is great. What we like most is; the software is user friendly, it's quick and easy to get reports, it has saved us a lot of time. Much of what the Tensor system does automatically we previously did manually as our system could not do it"

British Optical's Accountant, Alan Clark, was in charge of getting a new Time & Attendance system to replace their old Blick swipe card system. He finally chose Tensor because of price and the stability of the company.  Tensor installed a WinTA Lite system in November 2003 and the system was up and running quickly. Alan said 'The Tensor system cost us the same amount as Blick wanted in maintenance!' exclaimed Alan, 'Tensor as a company is efficient, reliable and friendly. After looking at several security systems they finally decided to implement a Tensor WinTA system because they liked the speed and ease-of-use of Tensor Smart Cards and felt that Tensor's Smart Cards were "strong and durable".
