Tensor Brings Home The Bacon Friday 4th March 2005

In late 1995 Logistics Manager, Dave Bull, was looking to update the existing Time Link clocking system which calculated the attendance hours of the 350 strong workforce. The existing system was a free-standing unit and was "growing tired and old".
After reviewing systems from Blick, Time Link and Tensor Dave bought a WinTA system from Tensor because "Tensor had more features than Blick or Time Link and the Tensor Smart Cards better suited the environment of a food company". The company decided the main advantage of Tensor over the competitors was "Tensors combined Time & Attendance and Access Control system"

Tensor and Healthy Eating in Ireland Friday 25th February 2005

Fresh Food Kitchen manufacture and distribute a unique range of high-quality, chilled foods from their factory in Londonderry, Northern Ireland. These foods capture all the freshness and goodness of homemade products. During early 2003 the Managing Director, Mr Bob Tyrell, wanted a new time and attendance system to replace their existing clunk-click clocking machine which was laborious to process the transactions and open to abuse.
A couple of local companies as well as Tensor were considered for supplying the new system, but Tensor was chosen because it had "as standard" a link to their Sage Payroll and could be installed by their own IT people. Another key reason for going with Tensor was because it was more "Cost Effective" than the other suppliers.

Tensor gets Plastered Friday 18th February 2005

Astins Ltd are a major dry lining and plastering contractor of mixed sized contracts in southern England with head offices in Croydon, Surrey. They are a main contractor for the Dry Lining and Plastering at the site of the New Romford Hospital; a multi million pound project where Astins will be working for approximately two years. Over 200 people work in the company of which around 90 are at the Romford site.

In October 2004, Quantity Surveyor, Andy Barber, wanted to install a Time and Attendance system to see who was on site and to check the hours worked by the skilled craftsmen. In particular he wanted to streamline the existing clocking system they had at that time. Andy looked at systems from Time Ware and a few other companies as well as Tensor.

Tensor on Target Friday 28th January 2005

Target Precision is an ISO9002 approved manufacturer of precision turned components. Their customers range from aerospace to automotive, and defence to electronics, medical and telecommunications. In spring 2003, Managing Director, Gary Plummer, was looking for a computerised Time and Attendance system to replace the manual timesheets, speed up administration and give better record keeping of the comings and goings of staff. “We looked at several systems and chose Tensor because we felt it was better than the others, despite being more expensive” explained Accounts Manager, Iris Burkett.

Tensor sees the Light Friday 21st January 2005

Coherent Optics Europe is a leading manufacturer of precision optical components with particular emphasis on infra-red optics. The company first thought about installing a system to formalise their HR procedures, Health and Safety, Flexible Working and Access Control on numerous doors in May 2003. Their HR Manager, Oksana Heanes, was the main project leader. “We looked at three companies and decided on Tensor because the functionality and the cost of the system was excellent value for money” explained Oksana. They also liked the Tensor Smart Cards, which they thought were “easy to use” and were the simplest solution to clocking in and out they had seen.

Libra Holidays is a Tour Operator for Package Holidays to the Western Mediterranean and pride themselves in providing “peace of mind” for their customers backed by the financial protection administered by the Civil Aviation Authority and ABTA approval. They employ around 100 people at their offices in New Barnet, Hertforshre.
