South Bucks District Council Install Tensor Friday 24th December 2004

South Bucks District Council employ 200 staff of which the majority are based at their new offices in Capswood, Denham. The Council first thought of installing an integrated Time & Attendance and Access Control system in 2003 when the decision was made to move from their previous premises in Slough. They looked at a total of 4 companies when considering the system that best suited the needs of the Council. The Project Leader was Alan Munro.

On asking why he chose Tensor, Alan said, "Tensor met our requirements and had a more flexible, future-proof system than the competitors". He added, "The Tensor system is as simple or as complex as you want to make it!"

Putting the steel in Tensor Friday 17th December 2004

Robert Smith Steel Ltd, a Groupe Arcelor company, are steel stockholders and processors based in Merseyside. IT Manager, Peter Bradshaw, explained "We found Tensor via their website, which had an excellent layout, and it went on from there". This was in September 2002 and after some investigation, Robert Smith Steel purchased a WinTA Lite system with an additional Smart Card clock. They use Smart Card badges for the operatives and Smart Key Fobs for the office staff.

Healthcare Packaging go for Tensor Friday 10th December 2004

Field Boxmore Healthcare Packaging, part of the Chesapeake group, manufacturer of a wide range of printed leaflets mainly for pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. Their Works Manager, Mark Wilson, joined the company just over a year ago, and on his arrival he discovered they were still using an old fashioned 'clunk-clunk' clocking machine for the 120 staff. Mark wanted to improve the situation. He had previously used a Tensor Smart Card Time & Attendance in his previous employment and wanted to investigate the possibility of such a system for Field Boxmore.

Albion Design and Fabrication install Tensor Friday 3rd December 2004

Albion Design & Fabrication design and manufacture display/queuing systems using barriers and audiovisual support methods at their Sandy site in Bedfordshire. Managing Director, Richard Osborne and Financial Controller, Peter Brown, first thought about installing a new Time & Attendance system during November 2003. Their main aims and objectives were a more flexible working ethic for their employees, better HR management especially in the area of absenteeism control; and from a Health and Safety point of view a Fire Roll Call system. They also wanted to improve the existing procedure of Job Costing.
Albion researched what was available in the market and finally decided to buy a Tensor WinTALite, Access Lite, Personnel, Fire Roll Call system. "We chose Tensor because it was a very cost effective solution" said Peter Brown.

Greenwood Air Management install Tensor Friday 26th November 2004

Greenwood Air Management has been designing and manufacturing ventilation products for over 120 years. One of their sites is the injection moulding part of the business based at the West Thamesmead Business Park in Woolwich. In 2001 this site decided to purchase a new Time and Attendance recording system for the weekly and monthly paid staff to replace an existing manual clock card system.

Harvey tool up with Tensor Friday 19th November 2004

To maintain a competitive lead in these fields Harvey have invested in new technology such as 5 axis CNC machine tools and powerful on site computer aided design and manufacturing systems. As part of this investment they purchased a Smart Card Time & Attendance and Access Control systems from Tensor in 2002. The system comprises Winta Lite Smart Card clocking system with Access Control and a hooter controller.

Tetley brews up to Install Tensor Tuesday 16th November 2004

In early 2004 Tetley reviewed their existing Time & Attendance recording and Access Control systems and decided to procure a new system that would handle both these functions. Paul Digweed, Tetley's IT/Business Consultant, was in charge of specifying Tetley's requirements and reviewing the various systems available in the market. Initially the Tetley selected six potential suppliers and this was reduced to three, then two and then they finally selected Tensor as the supplier of their new Time & Attendance and Access Control system.

Wabtec Rail takes the Tensor Train Monday 4th October 2004

Wabtec Rail Limited provides rail vehicle overhaul, conversion and maintenance services throughout the United Kingdom and is based on a 23 acre site in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
In 2000, during a period of reorganisation, the Accounts Department wanted to replace the company's time clock system because it was too time consuming to process that clock cards manually, especially at the end of the week when the punch cards were totalled and entered on a computer.

EEC Commission to axe UK Working Time Opt-out Wednesday 22nd September 2004

Initial Citylink take delivery of a Tensor system Friday 17th September 2004

Initial Citylink wanted an automatic computerised time and attendance system to replace a manual system for their 120 strong workforce at their depot in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. In charge of sourcing a new system was IT Manager, Andy Harris. He wanted an electronic system that could store a complete record of an employee's clockings and had a good analysis and report generator. It was a requirement that the new system would work over an existing Ethernet network.
