ROMTECH Ltd are based in Cannock, from where they offer a complete range of specialist services to the construction industry that include piling, tunnelling and Geotechnical Services. ROMTECH had a manual clock card system where they manually calculated employee timekeeping data and entered this into a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet was then manually entered into the payroll system. Kevin Parker, Group IT Manger, decided to investigate the possibility of automating this process.

"We looked at several companies each offering similar packages. The Tensor WinTA Lite system offered us the most cost effective timekeeping solution for our requirements. One of these was that the system must run over our Cat5 (Ethernet) network. Not all companies could do this" explained Kevin.

Kevin added, "Initially, we wanted a one clock, one site system which in the future could be expanded to a multi-clock, multi-site system. The Tensor system suited our business requirement and gave us the opportunity to expand in the future"

"The system is easy to install, easy to set-up and now its just sits there and quietly does its job — It's exactly the type of system I like!" remarked Kevin, and in conclusion he said, "It does exactly what it says on the tin!"
