WORLDS 1ST SUB-DERMAL FINGERPRINT TIME & ATTENDANCE SYSTEM

Tensor have just announced their range of sub-dermal fingerprint reading Time and Attendance and Access Control systems. They all use a Tensor Smart Card to identify a person and then verify the individuals true identity by reading the fingerprint on the 'live' tissue underneath the persons skin. 

'Even I am amazed by this new product, and I work in the security industry!' exclaimed Nigel Smith, Chief Executive of Tensor. 'and it reads fingerprints fast ' very fast' he said.

The new technology actually reads below the surface layer of a persons skin, sometimes called the 'dead skin layer', down to the live sub-dermal layer where an individual's true fingerprint resides. It works by bouncing electromagnetic waves, similar to radio waves, off the live tissue and blood flow underneath a persons skin. These reflections are recorded to build up a picture of the fingerprint, which is matched against the persons known fingerprint recorded earlier. 

Tensor's sub-dermal fingerprint reading technology gives increased accuracy and reliability, as the surface of the skin is often contaminated with dirt or grease ' it investigates underneath the skin surface where the true fingerprint exists ' all within ' second.
 
Other fingerprint reading technologies based on optics or capacitance do not work on up to 30% of a given population due to their dependence on the surface layer of skin. Common skin conditions such as dry, aged or worn skin will not image properly with these technologies, rendering them useless! These technologies are also sensitive to even slight amounts of "contamination", such as grease from french-fries, a magic marker or soil.

Tensor's world beating Time & Attendance and Access Control software, WinTA Lite and WinTA Enterprise have been upgraded to record the new fingerprint information. Using a Tensor T4210 PC plug-in sub-dermal reader, Tensor customers can also record their employees fingerprint information at a PC as well as at a Tensor clocking station or Access Control point. This means that when staff are initially registered onto the system, and have a Smart Card assigned to them, they can have their finger print information stored at the same time.

The Tensor fingerprint verification system provides irrefutable personal identification, which positively verifies the identity of a user - No need to worry about loosing other forms of identification - only authorized personnel who have a Smart Card and the appropriate security level are allowed in.

A headache for many personnel and payroll departments is the practice of 'buddy punching', where employees clock each other in and out of work. We estimate that in some companies this practice can cost up to 7% of total labour costs.
Where before this fraud was reduced with the introduction of a Tensor Smart Card Time & Attendance system, it is now completely eliminated with our sub-dermal fingerprint reading technology ' and you can be selective ' the Tensor clocking stations can be set to just work off a Smart Card at times of day when you don't think there will be a problem and then - say for the night shift where there may be less managerial control ' to work off a Smart Card and fingerprint reading.
