| Taking Coffee With Tensor | Fri 29th July 2005 |
Thomas & Green Ltd (part of GT Mandl Group) are manufacturers of coffee and vending filters. All the paper they use is produced in their modern environmentally friendly paper mill in Netstal, Switzerland with the paper made from natural materials obtained only from ecologically friendly forests.
In 2001 Production Director, Martin Klimes, wanted to replace their manual clocking machine with a modern PC based system. Two of the key requirements were that -
- the new system had to work using an Ethernet PC network
- had to link to their Payroll System which was called EARNIE
After reviewing what was on offer in the market, Thomas & Green Ltd purchased a Tensor Smart Card based WinTA Enterprise system because “Tensor offered the most competitive solution to our specifications” . The system was installed by Tensor in April 2002.
There were no problems with the hardware installation, but there were problems initially with the software, as they were one of the first ever users of WinTA Enterprise. “The software had problems, but Tensor were very professional in fixing the bugs and the system now runs perfectly. We are very happy with it.”
Two employees were trained at the Hail Weston Training Centre. “The training was good and clear... but no fresh ground coffee, I wasn't very pleased about that!”
The WinTA Enterprise system is now used daily for collecting employees' hours worked and exporting these into the payroll. “Having settled down, it's a low maintenance easy to use solution that does what it says on the tin” remarked Martin.
When asked where Tensor could improve it's service Martin said, “Can't and you couldn't - we're very pleased.” Martin also said he would recommend Tensor to other companies and summing up in a few word concluded: “Tensor are professionals who supply what you want, when you want it at a reasonable price. When things go wrong they fix them, if only all suppliers were the same.”
