Target Precision is an ISO9002 approved manufacturer of precision turned components. Their customers range from aerospace to automotive, and defence to electronics, medical and telecommunications. In spring 2003, Managing Director, Gary Plummer, was looking for a computerised Time and Attendance system to replace the manual timesheets, speed up administration and give better record keeping of the comings and goings of staff. “We looked at several systems and chose Tensor because we felt it was better than the others, despite being more expensive” explained Accounts Manager, Iris Burkett.
Tensor installed a WinTA Lite Time & Attendance and Job Costing system in the summer 2003 and this was expanded to include Access Control on the main front door using additional Smart Card scanners in the Spring of 2004. Iris described that there were no problems with the hardware that was installed and that an initial software communication problem was swiftly solved by the Tensor engineer.
Iris was trained on the use of WinTA Lite at Tensor’s Training Centre in Hail Weston. She described the quality of the training as “ Good .” Iris feels that she uses WinTA Lite to its full potential and on a day-to-day basis manages the attendance of the workforce, Access Control and the keeping of absence and holidays records with the system. When asked what she liked most about Tensor, Iris said “Ease of use and also the Fire Roll call feature.” She also remarked how “very easy” the Tensor Smart Cards were for the workforce to use.
Iris went on to say they’d had no problems with the WinTA Lite system although she has had to contact the Tensor HelpDesk. She found the service to be “ Good ” and when asked what she liked most about Tensor, Iris gave a familiar reply, “ Ease of use.”
Summing up Tensor in a few words Iris said “ Friendly, reliable and helpful,” and would she recommend Tensor to other companies? – the answer was “ Yes.”
