Tensor and the Orient Thu 11th October 2007

time and attendance Penta Foods Ltd is a family run company that has served the United Kingdom and beyond for over a decade. They import, stock and distribute European, Thai, Chinese, Japanese and general food products to the hotel, catering, wholesale and food manufacturing industries. CMi accredited, Penta Foods have a comprehensive range of oriental and general food products and have their own office in Bangkok, Thailand to source new products.

In April 2006, Penta's Systems Administrator, Ahtesham Husain, was looking for a Time and Attendance system for their 24 hours-a-day-operation in Farnborough, which employs around 120 people. "We wanted a system that would automate the clocking in and out process, and one that would give us quick and accurate reporting" explained Ahtesham.

After reviewing systems from Mitrefinch, Intelligent Time Systems and Tensor Penta Foods decided to buy a WinTA Enterprise system from Tensor because "the WinTA Enterprise Software was better than others". In particular, they liked the analysis reporting and the auto emailing of alerts within the WinTA Enterprise system.

Tensor installed a Smart Card based Time and Attendance system at the Penta Foods site on 4th September 2006. No problems were encountered with the installation of the hardware or the software.

Ahtesham Husain was trained in how to use the WinTA Enterprise system at their Farnborough site. "Good" was how he described the quality of the training.

Ahtesham said that Penta Foods use the Tensor system solely for attendance monitoring. He said the system was particular very easy to use and described the use by the workforce of the Tensor Smart Cards as "very easy". Penta are now looking to extend the WinTA Enterprise system to include another of their sites in Manchester. Ahtesham is particularly interested in upgrading the system to include remote clocking in and out by employees using mobile phones.

Asked what he like best about Tensor, Ahtesham replied "Tensor have an excellent product and particularly good after care service, especially the Help Desk".

Ahtesham said that he would definitely recommend Tensor to other companies looking for a Time and Attendance system, and summing up Tensor in a few words he said, "Tensor is best system I found in terms of quality, flexibility, automation, reporting and support."
