Access Control Systems At Wembley Arena

With over 70 control points and over 800 Smart Card holders, Wembley London Limited who manage the Wembley Complex required a system that would allow easy access for staff and the many visitors that use the venue daily. After they looked at many other systems they installed the WinTA system which allows easy control of who is allowed access through any controlled point at any time of any day.

Robert Jackson the Safety and Security operations co-ordinator of Wembley who headed the six month plan said " The idea of installing the Access Control system was to increase the Safety and Security of our complex and its occupants. We house several Wembley Group Companies as well as Tenant Companies so the protection of staff is a high priority for us at Wembley. The benefits of such a system instead of lock and key is the capability to interrogate the software as part of an investigation or access enquiry. Who went where and when basically, results of such enquiries are on your computer within a minute of inputting the desired information."

When asked why Wembley decided to install a Tensor System Robert explains I had a budget for the entire project and we knew that the Access Control system would be the most expensive so we wanted to be provided with the most comprehensive and state of the art system available. Tensor provided us with this. "

The control points which include external and internal doors can be monitored and controlled from the central security room. The Smart cards are issued at the security room where the holder is photographed and their security level is set. For the many companies which lease office space from Wembley, the WinBadge module allows them to design their badge layout and use their own company graphics and logos.

The features of the system that Robert and his staff most liked are " the Fire Roll call facility as well as the flexibility of the system which allows us to program several Access Patterns along with individual security ratings " and the "ease of use. " Fire regulations and safely are of utmost importance to Wembley and that is why they were happy that the Tensor system would give them a automatic Fire Roll call reports which allows an accurate procedure for accounting for all members of staff and visitors in emergency situations. The WinTA system is integrated with the existing fire alarm system and has performed well in fire drills and mock emergency situations that Wembley run.
