A brave Tensor employee has helped to fund-raise more than £500 following a sponsored skydive for BBC Children in Need. Rebecca Wheeldon, an Internal Sales Executive at Tensor’s Birmingham office, had planned to do the jump on Sunday, November 20 on this year’s Children in Need weekend, but due to fog it had to be re-arranged to Sunday, December 4 at Cambridge. Rebecca said: “I did the jump with two of my friends Annie McKay and Maria Green.”
She added: “I was the first off the plane – this was lucky as I wanted to go first. People that have done a skydive will know how good it was and anyone that hasn’t I recommend it to you. Then the parachute came up. My body got pins and needles and I was in pain. My instructor really helped, he got me to the ground quickly and got the harness off me. It was then that I found out something was wrong with our chute! My heart was thundering but the smile still wasn’t leaving my face! We will be presenting the cheque to Children in Need a couple of weeks after the skydive, when we have gathered all the money over together.”
