Stand-alone Unit

The T3512 can be installed without a PC connection. Here, it is easily installed and setup using a Master Card to add or delete users. Whilst the T3511 controller performs best when connected to a PC, using it in stand alone mode means it can function in the simplest of environments, with minimal fuss. The T3511 is programmed with up to three Master Cards using feedback LED's and switches. This offers the user a quick and easy method of adding or removing access rights for individuals. Any standard burglar alarm can be connected directly to the T3511 so an audible and/or visual alert is immediately triggered from a forced entry.

Connected to a PC or PC network

Connecting the T3511 controller to a PC brings the whole system to life and gives you the embryo of a fully computerised Access Control and Security system. The plug & play features allow up to two Smart Card scanners, one door lock and other security equipment to be controlled by the WinACnet software. This latest .NET software also controls the list of valid badge holders, access patterns and audit transactions monitoring and logging every event; providing irrefutable proof of where and when an individual gained access to specific areas. WinACnet stores information such as calendars and photographs if required. WinACnet allows you to create sophisticated movement and access analysis reports of all badge holders as well as flagging up any irregular activity.

WinACnet creates alarm messages when predetermined actions take place, or if a forced entry occurs. These alarms are immediately emailed to a specified address. Optionally a warning email can be sent if communications to the PC are lost. Free software upgrades are available to those with maintenance contracts, which means the system is always up to date.

Like the T3510 four door controller, the T3511 has a speech output via the WinACnet software. This delivers clear English spoken alerts when pre-defined ‘flagged’ actions take place. For example, when the door is accessed by a specific individual, or if the door is left open longer than a specified time.

The T3511 continuously stores access transactions and alarm events in it’s non-volatile cyclic buffer memory. If communications with the PC or PC network is lost for any reason, the data is kept safe within this buffer and transmitted to the PC once communications is restored. Audible and visual warnings alert the user if the memory buffer is nearly full, again ensuring a secure method of preventing data loss.

Examples of T3512 Configurations:

Smart Card reader entry with push button exit
Fig 5 shows how a single smart card reader can be used to gain entry to a door and a push button is used to exit. Of course, if the Smart Card reader is mounted on, say, a glass window then the same reader can be used to gain entry or exit. This is because Tensor Smart Card readers can be read from either side of the reader. A break glass unlocks the door, from the inside, in an emergency.

Smart Card entry and exit
Fig 6 shows how to use the T3511 with two Smart Card readers to control entry and exit. This gives better management control as the T3511 can differentiate which reader was used so you know who is left in the building. This is essential for producing an accurate Fire Roll Call register. Again, a break glass unlocks the door, from the inside, in an emergency.
2 doors, Smart Card & Fingerprint entry with Smart Card only exit
Fig 7 shows how a Tensor biometric fingerprint reader can replace a Smart Card reader. Usually entry would be via Smart Card and fingerprint. Exit would be via a Smart Card alone. Biometrics is not the panacea for all applications but does have the advantage of providing irrefutable proof of who went through the door.

Door control plus Movement Monitoring
Fig 8 shows the versatility of the T3511 using passive infrared sensors (PIR’s) and the WinACnet software to create a register of date & time stamped movement transactions recorded by the PC. This feature shows when and where movement in an area has taken place, and can trigger the alarm if required.

T3511’s can be networked together with other T3511’s, the four doors controller (T3510) or other larger Tensor door controllers or Time & Attendance equipment to create a powerful computer controlled security infrastructure.

The T3511 is the ideal way to start off small, but to have the flexibility to grow at a later date; So much better than installing a door controller that only operates as a ‘stand alone’ unit with no future expansion capability. As your security network grows and requires more control points, further T3511’s or T3510’s can be installed, working side by side within the same network.  This “building block” approach is the most cost effective way to install Access Control.

The T3511 has a volt-free input that can be wired directly into your fire alarm system. When the alarm is activated, the door immediately opens for a quick and safe evacuation of personnel. Simultaneously, a Fire Roll Call report is printed on a remote, secure serial printer.

Installing a T3512 door access system is just the beginning to providing your organisation with a platform and route for installing other Tensor products such as Time & Attendance, Visitor Monitoring, Automatic Number Plate recognition and Digital CCTV.

Sliding Gates

The modem facility within the T3511 enables you to install a simple system at a remote graphical location where there is only power and a phone line. The T3512 System comes with everything you need to start controlling door access right out of the box! The system comprises:

A Magnetic door release lock

The Tensor LOCK5 is a world-class device for securing a door using a magnetic door release. Very strong, beautifully designed, it incorporates forced entry detection and green & red LED lamps to provide visual verification the unit is working.
