Their turnover is in excess of £56 million and the group has grown significantly over the last five years. Around 700 people work in the group with over 400 working at two sites within Central London.
Morris Vermaport gets a lift from Tensor
Morris Vermaport operate from their offices in Chilwell, Nottingham and are a leading company in the installation, modernisation, service and repair of lifts. In November 2004 their IT Manager, Michael Fox, was looking at ways to improve the control over site security and to better monitor employee attendance.

Hagemeyer Install Tensor
Hagemeyer is a value added business-to-business (B2B) distribution services group employing about 17,000 people worldwide. The group focuses on the markets of electrical materials, safety and other MRO (Maintenance Repair and Operations) products in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific. Nearly two years ago Operations Director, Matt Parsons, was looking for a system that would segregate access within their building and also provide time recording for the staff.

The latest eight colour print technology is used for top-quality reproduction, and conversion is done in-house to a strict quality control regime. Fold Hill Foods Ltd are manufacturers of dried pet food and have been producing pet foods for over 20 years. They have gained and maintained an enviable reputation for quality and for this reason are now the largest supplier in the UK of dry pet food for retailers’ “own brands”.
Focus on Tensor
Essilor is the worlds largest manufacturer of spectacle lenses. Essilor has had a presence in Britain since 1881 when Société des Lunetiers opened it’s British operation in Hatton Garden, London. It maintained a presence in the city until 1975 when the company moved its offices and production facilities to Thornbury, near Bristol. The group employs 23,000 personnel world-wide, with around 400 people employed at Thornbury.

Originally established in 1991, Index Books Ltd are one of the largest direct re-sellers of books and giftware in the UK. Around three years ago their Company Secretary, Jerry Beswick, and Deputy Managing Director, Tony Peel, were looking for a system that could check the punctuality of their staff and also record personnel and Health & Safety information.
Excelsior put Tensor on film
Excelsior Technologies are specialist manufacturers of cast co-extruded films and laminates for packaging in the food and medical industry. They manufacture their products in Flint, near Chester in north Wales and distribute their products worldwide. In 2000 the Finance Director was looking at streamlining the company’s Time & Attendance recording, which included better control and keeping track of holidays and absences. He, and the management team, also wanted to better record certain Health & Safety criteria.
