Dispersal order was in place on Oxford street after social trend strikes fear for retail businesses

CCTV

Retail Week reported that Oxford street, one of the country’s most popular shopping destinations has been subject to a police dispersal order. This came after concerns regarding ‘TikTok crime-spree’ fears.

The dispersal order came in place on Thursday August 9th until 7am Friday morning. A TikTok craze is believed to be at the heart of the chaos that happened in London with shoppers being forced to leave stores as unwarranted behaviour occurred. The social trend has apparently been calling for looting and riots.

Social media has become a very powerful tool in recent years and powerful tools are what retail businesses need to help prevent future crime from occurring. CCTV is one of the top areas of investment and a manufacturing company called Tensor plc might have the solution to effectively protect retail businesses.
