Protect your sensitive R&D facilities with Tensor’s secure WinAC.NET access control system

Protecting the sensitive data found in their R&D centres should be a major priority for any serious technology company out there, and this is exactly where Tensor could put its extensive experience in developing and installing highly-secure access control solutions to very good use.

That is also the case with Blur Group, a technology company that is getting ready to set up a new R&D centre in Exeter, as it said the South West shares the same characteristics for tech clusters as Silicon Valley, a news report in the local media reveals.

The company, who’s actively involved in developing a commerce platform, said it has chosen to establish an R&D centre in Exeter as it is in a “prime position” to become the UK’s leading tech region.

Blur chief executive Philip Letts said: “The South West combines innovation and technology excellence, a great mix of universities with both academic and venture focus, and an established reputation in attracting hi-tech firms while providing great incubation and support for earlier stage business.

“It’s a combination that has worked well for the US and has the potential to do the same in the UK. Choosing this location was very straightforward. In doing so, we’ve received exactly the kind of support from local universities and the county council that reinforces why the South-West will assume the UK tech cluster crown.” he concluded.

“And one ingredient that everyone overlooks in finding the next Silicon Valley was pointed out to me on the first day of my tenure in the Valley – and is very prevalent here – the sea.”

As mentioned before, setting up a system that controls and monitors exactly who’s accessing a secure site, according to a very well-specified set of access rules, is extremely important for such an undertaking. The Tensor WinAC.NET solution enables administrators to control most standard types of internal/external electronic door releases and physical security devices such as barriers and turnstiles making full use of location points, whether in full view or hidden out of sight.

Operated by contactless smart cards, key fobs or biometrics, a Tensor Access System gives customers full control over who is allowed access through any controlled point at any time of any day, placing it at the forefront of security solutions.

Tensor Access Control is modular in design, and has the advanced capability of being able to be adapted and extended to integrate with a time and attendance system seamlessly and without complication.
