Secure your secret rooms using a biometric access control system

Tensor Biometric Access Control Readers

A secret room built within a house can improve the home’s overall level of security, and a biometric access control system is the best solution for restricting access to such an area.

While secret rooms are particularly popular on movie sets and/or crime and spy novels, the truth of the matter is that they’re also becoming increasingly popular with customers concerned about their physical security, experts in the field have explained.

Secret openings can be concealed within a fireplace, a wall bookcase unit, cupboard or cabinet. The secret, one expert argues, is to use the “dead” space in a home. Whether it’s a passageway underneath a staircase or a doorway that leads to space originally designated as part of a furnace room, closet or crawl space, Steve Humble, president and founder of the decade-old Creative Home Engineering firm, based in Gilbert, Ariz., says the key to having a secret room is that visitors don’t even know one exists within the home.

A vault or panic room door can feature a heavy-duty locking system that provides a strong resistance to forced entry and the ability to interface with an existing home security system.

“When it comes to protecting your most important assets — including your family — concealment is the first line of defense against intruders,” Humble says. “Doors can be plated for ballistic protection and can feature a locking system that has retracting 1-inch diameter stainless steel shear pins. The secret room might even contain a surveillance system inside, so inhabitants can monitor what is happening throughout the rest of the house.”

Secret switches to open the door to the hidden room can vary, but biometric access control systems remain high on the priority list due to the superior level of security they provide.

Tensor Biometric Access Control Systems – Secure access for complete peace of mind

Tensor has an extensive experience in developing and installing high-end, highly reliable, yet quite affordable biometric access control systems.

The Tensor plc T34xx biometric readers are capable of easily creating access rights based on the users’ specific biometric data and are housed within an elegant, sleek case.

You can control most standard types of internal/external electronic door releases and physical security devices such as barriers and turnstiles making full use of location points, whether in full view or hidden out of sight.

Tensor Access Controlis modular in design, and has the advanced capability of being able to be adapted and extended to integrate with a time and attendance system seamlessly and without complication.
