Position: Embedded Android Engineer

About the role:

The Embedded Android Engineer position with Tensor involves designing, implementing and maintaining our new clocking terminal alongside our other embedded engineers and software developers. This will include drivers for contactless card readers, biometric readers, POE, Wi-Fi, MIPI display and cameras modules.

What you will need to be successful:

• Experience of developing Android embedded products from the ground up with custom board support and runtime
• Extensive knowledge of the ‘C/C++’, Java programming languages
• Ability to develop low level drivers and applications for modern application processors (e.g., ARM Cortex-A)
• Good working knowledge of network communications protocol and encryption (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, AES)
• Good working knowledge of serial hardware interfaces MIPI, SPI, I²C, UART, RS485 and RS232
• Ability to read and understand schematics diagrams and datasheets as they relate to firmware development
• Ability to use standard test equipment to verify correct functioning of embedded firmware
• Very good debugging skills, with the ability to debug and resolve issues on embedded platforms
• Good familiarity with revision control systems (e.g., Git, Subversion)
• Ability to work autonomously or as part of a small team
• You will need a relevant degree (if requiring a visa this must have been taught in English, or you have passed a Secure English Language Test (SELT) from an approved provider)

What we can offer you:

• Salary from £30,000 to £34,000 per year dependent upon experience
