Description

The Tensor Help Desk is based at our offices in Hail Weston, Cambridgeshire where they provide our customers with technical support and advice in operating and administering both the Hardware and Software elements of the Time & Attendance, Access Control, Building Management and other products Tensor provides.

The Help Desk Manager’s position with Tensor involves an initial training period of 6 weeks at our offices in Hail Weston where you will be expected to become very familiar with Tensor’s “Smart Card” and biometric based Time & Attendance and Access Control products.

You will be intelligent, self-motivated and dedicated individual who,

  • is hard working, proactive and self-motivated
  • has an excellent knowledge of PCs within a “Windows” environment & network infrastructure
  • is able to develop their personal skills in dealing with people
  • is a customer orientated person with a methodical approach to problem solving
  • has a positive management attitude
  • has a good base level of technical experience in hardware and networks – Desirable
  • previous exposure to Microsoft SQL – Desirable
Responsibilities

The Helpdesk Managers role is varied, but with the primary responsibility being managing and driving the Helpdesk to continually provide our customers with the highest level of support for all tickets raised and acting as an escalation point for both customers and Technicians alike.

They are also required to monitor the processes adopted within the team to ensure that these are streamlined and accurate, whilst looking at how and where further improvements could be made.

This is a hands on role whereby you will be expected to act as escalation point for the team to refer to and take ownership of certain tickets should the needs arise meaning you will need to keep your knowledge of our products at a high level. As such a good grounding in application and technical support would be beneficial as well as previous experience in managing a team and the challenges that this can provide.
