Tensor are a privately owned leading Security and Time & Attendance manufacturer with NSI NACOSS Gold and ISO 9001:2008 accreditations. We are currently looking for a Junior Installation engineer based out of our St Helens, Merseyside office.
The Junior Installations Engineer position with Tensor is a trainee position for candidates with practical experience of fitting door locking furniture within the construction industry and some knowledge/interest in electrics or with practical knowledge of PC’s and/or electronics hardware.
The training covers the installation of Smart Card and Biometric Time & Attendance, Access Control and security products. Trainees will initially work within the production, manufacturing and testing area of Tensor to gain knowledge and experience of our products.
They will then transfer to the Operations department where they will be shown how the equipment is installed in the field. During this time they will be involved in more site work and be given an opportunity to demonstrate what they have learnt by installing some elements of a system themselves. The final part of the training will comprise both installation and maintenance site work, together with time spent in the manufacturing area. The installation and maintenance work involves travelling to various parts of the country.
Applications are invited from candidates with practical experience and some knowledge of computers. Knowledge of hardware, electronics, PC systems and software installations would be an advantage. Those applying with should be sharp hardworking individuals and ideally have some practical knowledge in 2nd Fix within the construction industry, Electronic Servicing, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or similar disciplines.
- Have GCSEs with grades A to C, ideally in some science subjects
- Be self-motivated.
- Have an interest in computers and/or electronics.
- Have a full driving license.
Whilst Tensor considers academic qualifications important, the most important attribute required of a Junior Installations engineer is their tenacity and willingness to learn our products and the skill set necessary to assemble and test products.
Starting salary between £18,500 and £21,000 per annum depending upon experience and ability.
