Test Software Developer

Tensor plc is a world-class medium sized company who design and manufacture Smart Card and Biometric Time & Attendance, Access Control and security and control products. We also design and manufacture a range of eco-control systems, including boiler and solar heating controllers. The role will require you to develop PC based test applications supporting TCP/IP Stack, RS485 and RS232 communications systems and input/output signal processing using Microsoft C# development suite.

As part of this process, you will be required to understand manufacturer’s documentation and have the confidence to hold technical meetings with other departments within the company to specify development needs to successfully integrate test solutions.


You will be intelligent, self-motivated, dedicated and a hardworking individual. You will have:

  • A good Software qualification, preferably in C#

Experience in or knowledge of:

  • Software design C#.
  • Instrumentation and control algorithms.
  • Excellent design and strong diagnostic and debug skills.
  • Basic electronic hardware principles.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • A knowledge of communications protocols, microcontrollers, network communications system and analysis software (algorithms, encryption techniques and filters) would also be useful.

Required Experience :

  • C/C+/C# experience: 2 years
Job Benefits

Basic salary is circa £23,000 per year. A private pension is available.
