Gate technology supplied by British security industry trade association member
A survey into automatic gates found 35 per cent of respondents admitted to not having a regular service agreement in place to ensure the ongoing safety of the automatic gate. Chairman Richard Jackson of the survey-takers, the Gate Safe Steering Group, said: “These findings indicate that a worryingly high level of risk exists of yet another automated gate accident occurring, or even worse a fatality,” adding it demonstrated “that more needs to be done” to put the message across. Tensor, a premier supplier of gate, barrier and turnstile technology, has many accreditations, and certification is an ongoing process that encourages continuous improvement with a focus on customer satisfaction. Tensor was assessed by National Quality Assurance Ltd and achieved ISO 9001 certification in September 2003. ISO 9001 is a quality assurance model made up of quality system requirements. This model applies to organisations that produce, install, and service products. Among our certifications is membership of The British Security Industry Association, which is the trade association for the British security industry.
Office security network can combine access point scanner or fingerprint reader
Echoing the national trend, crime figures in a region of southern England have dropped to a 12-year low. The overall reduction was more than six per cent (2,394 fewer crimes) in Dorset, with even bigger decreases in violent crime and anti-social behaviour. “I am particularly pleased to report on the continued good work and significant achievements of all divisions,” said the county’s Chief Constable Martin Baker. Tensor Access Lite is the latest in our proven range of Windows™ based Access Control products for your office or site. The scanner controller is the unit to which all access control equipment within your network is connected. A Tensor T32xx clocking station can have up to 12 T8424 scanner controllers attached to it. Your clocking station network can consist of one or more clocks, and is connected to a main server PC either via the PC's standard serial port or an ethernet network adapter. Each T8424 scanner controller can have combinations of up to two T149x access point scanners or fingerprint readers.
Access system controls most internal and external electronic and magnetic door releases
Reverend Antony MacRow-Wood said he was saddened by stolen items from his St George’s church which has been targeted by copper thieves who left a £4,000 repair bill following an overnight raid. Thefts of copper have spiralled up across the UK, as the price of the metal is considerably higher than this time last year. Copper drainpipes and some porch guttering was ripped from St George’s in Poole. Beginning with single-door access control through to a fully computerised, multi-site network of control points, a Tensor Access System is the solution for your business security needs. You can control most standard types of internal and external electronic and magnetic door releases and devices, including barriers making full use of location points, whether in full view or hidden out of sight. The T351x range is the ultimate smart card access control units for doors, car park barriers and turnstiles, whether single-door or up to a four-door. You can upgrade Tensor Access to include digital CCTV or automatic number plate recognition.
Easy PC based attendance booking system suitable for schools
Some of the best behaved pupils in Britain are to be found in Dorset, the latest figures have shown. Bournemouth primary schools in particular achieved a perfect 100 per cent of schools rated as good or outstanding in behaviour league tables published by the Department for Education. Charlie Taylor, a new government adviser on behaviour, said that tough new powers being introduced in the new Education Bill will give teachers more power to crack down on bad behaviour in schools. Tensor can aid good behaviour among pupils with our WinTA PC Clock, a simple PC based booking system ideal for organisations like schools where each pupil has access to a PC. Schoolchildren are simply presented with an input screen on their PC allowing them to register their attendance. PC Clock's analysis module consists of a scaled-down version of Tensor's acclaimed WinTA Lite time and attendance software. Many of the features of WinTA Lite are included in PC Clock, such as the holiday and absence planners.
Automatic barrier ideal for controlling car park and road entry points at your site
Police vowed to catch more people who were involved in violent disorder recently in Bristol. Supt Julian Moss, of Avon and Somerset Police, said: "We are still scrutinising at a large amount of CCTV footage and local people can be assured that we will arrest anybody who we identify as having played a part in the events which disrupted the lives of so many residents and traders." The trouble centred around a former squat on which a Tesco Express store has subsequently been built. Experts Tensor can put together a complete package to monitor your business premises for total security and protection. The technology includes digital CCTV surveillance, visitor and access control, and barriers. An automatic barrier is capable of operating with any installed access control or ticketing systems. Suitable for both large and small premises, car park barriers are highly adaptable, can work in any weather, and are able to immediately recognise authorised personnel. They are ideal for controlling your site's car park and road entry points.
Secure smart cards have unique factory encoded ID number that cannot be duplicated
Policing and Criminal Justice Minister Nick Herbert said of the latest statistics, where total crime numbers fell by 3 per cent last year compared with 2009: "There is clearly no room for complacency. The public rightly remain concerned about levels of crime and particularly antisocial behaviour, and we are determined to ensure that the police have the right powers to do the job.” The British Crime Survey showed burglaries rose by 14 per cent. Contactless smart cards are used to operate your Tensor access control, time and attendance and visitor monitoring systems which offer protection and peace of mind for your premises. Our most popular smart card is the T1305, which is approximately the size of a standard credit card and is thin and flexible enough to be carried in your wallet. The smart card microchip is a passive device which holds a unique factory encoded ID number that cannot be duplicated, making it very secure indeed, and a card can only be used by one employee.
Speedy coin operated turnstiles help to pay for toilet maintenance costs
Residents have clamoured for temporary toilets to be brought in to Edinburgh's biggest park, which is served by only one set of public toilets, because demand is outstripping the facilities’ capacity to cope. There is only one set of public toilets available to users of The Meadows, which is at least a ten-minute walk away from some parts of the park and the recent hot spells have shown current provision to be inadequate. Tensor coin operated toilet turnstiles are perfect for public toilets as they offer improved security and extend flow capacity. They can be installed to cope with frequent use and with all denominations of coins while helping to pay for maintenance costs. Without compromising the safety of those who use the turnstile, speed and reliability are provided even during rush hour periods. Available as a double half height turnstile, your throughput can be doubled whilst keeping the amount of space down to a minimum. Tensor's turnstiles fully integrate with our smart card and biometric access control systems.
Labour hours analysis software show jobs that are over budget
Members of the Public and Commercial Services Union are due to stage strike action at 37 UK offices. Their bosses, the Department for Work and Pensions, said it was disappointed by the decision. The union claims members are prevented from providing a service because of "unnecessary and unrealistic" call centre targets, adding: "The problem is that management obsessed with targets. We should be able to use our judgment about how long a call takes.” Tensor can help your workforce achieve its targets, and also produce greater productivity, using our Time and Attendance systems’ job costing and extensive labour hours analysis. The WinTA Lite system stores information on up to 1000 production or department jobs. A simple and quick process with their smart cards or key fobs, employees book time against these jobs to produce a fully costed analysis and break down of time spent on each one. Software reports show jobs that are over budget or those approaching their budget limit. This information can also be exported to spreadsheets.
Powerful clocking software displays a whole year of office absences at a time
The car firm Toyota has announced more closures and non-production days throughout May due to a prolonged shortage of parts. Mondays will be used as more non-production days in May and volume will be reduced on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Last week, Toyota, announced that its factories in the Midlands and North Wales would have a non-production day. Both sites also shut down for the three days up to the royal wedding public holiday tomorrow (Friday, April 29). Both large industrial plants and small offices can reap the benefits of a Tensor all-in-one smart card operated Time and Attendance system with multiple shift pattern creation, overtime, Job Booking and Job Costing facilities, among others. Using the powerful software, the Group Holiday Planner displays a whole year of absences at a time. It allows easy viewing of incidences of multiple absences, whether in the past or the future, making it an ideal management tool. Absence codes or colours are user definable with separate rules for each.
