Symrise Get a Taste of Biometric Time and Attendance with Tensor

Symrise is the third largest producer of flavours, seasonings, fragrances and scents in the world.

Symrise is home to a large number of employees, with 6,500 employees globally and around 250 UK-based employees.

The site in Corby, Northamptonshire, has Tensor's Biometric (fingerprint) Time and Attendance System in place as well as the Tensor Smart Card Access Control System. At the Symrise site in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, Tensor's Biometric (fingerprint) Access Control System is in place as well as the Visitor Monitoring.

When it came up for tender, Symrise considered three different companies including Tensor. Vincent Keedle, the Facilities and Health & Safety Manager at Symrise, told the tensor reporter that, "The value for money was an important factor and the Sale's representatives offered good, honest advice to us. We are never over-sold or pushed into a direction that we don't want to go".

Did Symrise receive any training on how to use the Time and Attendance or Access Control systems? Mr. Keedle said, "We had training for the Time and Attendance system for the HR team. The training was top quality. The Tensor training team always goes above and beyond. If I've ever had a problem I just drop them an email and they always help me out".

Do Symrise use Tensor's Fire Roll Call System? "Yes!", said Mr. Keedle. He added, "When we've had contractors on site the fire alarm went off and it worked fine. We've also done tests and it works well every time".

When asked what he likes most about the Tensor system, Mr. Keedle said, "The biometric system and being smart card free was the biggest attraction because I don't want smart cards going into our production areas causing a food safety issue". Mr. Keedle added, "I like that it's also cost-effective. With our old system we were paying £25 per smart card and with Tensor we pay a fraction of that price".

Mr. Keedle remarked, "One of the best things about the Tensor system is it's a fairly open system that can be expanded. We were paying thousands of pounds per door when we wanted to expand the old Access Control system we had. With Tensor Access Control, it's much easier and much more cost-effective".

Would Mr. Keedle recommend Tensor to other companies looking to install a Time and Attendance or Access Control system? "Yes I Would!" said Mr. Keedle.
