XMA Ltd Choose Tensor for Global Access Control

XMA is a family-owned, £500 million-pound, business that delivers IT solutions to enable customers to evolve and transform the way they work. Customers include the Police, Schools, Councils and other public sector services. XMA also deploys IT hardware from laptops, IPads, desktop computers, monitors, printers and scanners.

With over 500 personnel working across 3 sites, from St Albans, which is their Head Office, to Nottingham and Glasgow. XMA tasked their Network & Infrastructure Manager, Rikki Auluk, to improve and tighten their security measures across all three sites. XMA had already installed a Tensor Access Control System at the St Albans site over decades ago, so Mr. Auluk wanted to extend this across all sites.

"Tensor had what we needed and worked really well, so it was an obvious choice to expand the system we already had. It was a no-brainer!" said Mr. Auluk. "As we are a forward-thinking company, we wanted to put everything into the Cloud. I gave my vision to the Tensor team, told them I needed global access and they made it all happen".

When asked if he received any training on how to use the Access Control Software, Mr. Auluk replied, "The Tensor Trainer provided on-site training sessions and a remote training session for myself. The quality of training was good. The Tensor application has got a lot of functionality".

XMA Ltd uses a combination of Smart Card Access Control and Biometric Access Control Systems at the Nottingham site, and only uses Tensor's Smart Card Access Control System at St Albans.

XMA is currently setting up a new "Follow Me" print solution, whereby users will be able to utilise their door access cards to release prints to their nearest printer in the very near future.

Mr. Auluk said, "We use the Tensor Fire Roll Call App and, touch wood, we have never had to use it in a real fire situation. We do test Roll Calls every week and it works well".

When asked if he has ever had to call the Tensor Helpdesk, Mr. Auluk replied, "We have in the past, not so long ago. One of our existing doors started to fail intermittently but the Tensor Helpdesk was quick to respond and before long an Engineer was on site to repair the door".

When asked what he likes most the Tensor's Access Control System, Mr. Auluk said, "The flexibility of having global access. Because the Tensor Access Control Software allows us to have everything in the Cloud, it means I can access it from anywhere. He added, "I couldn't fault the system. It's quick to respond when I'm adding or changing people's access".

Would XMA Ltd recommend Tensor to other companies looking to install Tensor's Access Control System? "I absolutely would do, definitely! Tensor has really good products and ideas that are on the market that I would love to have in the future. The products work straight out of the box". He added, "We are also setting up an experience centre as we have around 10,000 sq ft on the ground floor where we can showcase the Tensor products to our clients going forward".
