Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Launch Event Features Tensor's Facial Recognition System
Tensor's advanced Facial Recognition CCTV technology took centre stage at the highly anticipated launch event for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, reinforcing the game's theme of surveillance and creating a powerful, personalised experience for every attendee.
From 5th-7th November 2025, Tensor's technology captured the faces of guests arriving at a former industrial factory in East London, styled as neo-Japanese shopfront. On arrival, attendees were enrolled via a tablet and assigned a gamer tag. Throughout the course of the event, a second IP camera tracked attendees moving through the venue, with the facial recognition server identifying guests in real time. The images captured and their gamer tags were projected onto a large screen behind the main stage and onto the ceiling. At random intervals, identified faces were singled out and highlighted as a "person of interest", enhancing the sense of being monitored, a core theme of the Black Ops 7 storyline.
The system consisted of two 4K IP cameras and a facial recognition server. These cameras delivered vivid colour images in dim light, even down to 0.0005 lux which is equivalent to a moonless, starlit night. This incredible capability to intensify minimal ambient light was achieved through two key features:
F1.0 Super Aperture which captures as much light as possible for the sensor
1/1.2" Large Sensor which maximises the use of available light
Tensor's high-performance facial recognition software, typically used in maximum security scenarios, was specially adapted for this event. A customised middleware application and a new display interface were developed to integrate seamlessly with the Call of Duty brand, ensuring it can be streamed to the venue's Resolume software. The system was designed to scale for different attendance levels across the three day event and offered customisation options for the layout and display of recognised faces.
The Tensor Team worked closely with event organisers, Push, and venue technicians to ensure smooth deployment. On-site, a dedicated staff member managed each day of the event, overseeing camera operation and attendee enrolment.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launch event was an opportunity for Tensor to showcase its world-class facial recognition technology, while contributing to an immersive, creative experience. A huge thank you to Push UK for creating an outstanding event and inviting Tensor to take part.
