Build a solid and reliable access control system around the Tensor T8526 Intelligent IP Access Controller

A strong and solid foundation represents the key to the success and proper functionality of just about any type of access control system, and the same applies to the Tensor systems, that are built around the T8526 Intelligent IP Access Controller.

The T8526 controls up to 8 smart card readers (four doors), featuring no less than 16 inputs for door or anti-tamper sensors, push buttons or alarm inputs, as well as 8 outputs for door locks or alarms. Furthermore, each door controller can retain up to an impressive 30,000 cardholders, as well as 200,000 records of the most recent access events.

Moreover, the T8526 uses its integral Ethernet 10/100Mbs connection to send access control updates or alert notifications in real time to the WinAC.NET software to provide real-time reporting capabilities and can also be easily connected to both Fire and Inhibitor alarm systems.

In the event of a fire, fail-safe doors will be opened immediately, while fail secure doors will remain locked. Access controllers are assigned to alarm or fire zones and all specific units within the same zone respond to the alarm whilst other zones are unaffected.

Furthermore, if an inhibitor alarm is activated, all doors are locked until deactivation. However, designated cardholders with special permissions can gain access during an inhibitor alarm lock-down.

Proving once more its extensive functionality level, the T8526 Intelligent IP Door Controller can actually be used to arm an intruder alarm. Entry of a PIN combination by a designated cardholder at an arming reader will lock all access points and arm the intruder alarm system. On intruder alarm activation, access is inhibited to everyone apart from designated cardholders.

It’s also important to point out that access control operation is maintained during any short-term power outages by means of the T8526s internal battery, the application display and alert notifications informing the system users of the battery condition and remaining power.
