CCTV To Help In Blaze

CCTV is renouned for it’s detterant and crime detection abilities. However, following the Buncefield oil depot fire, footage is now being studied after detectives discovered that the security film survived the blaze.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) are confident that the camera footage could hold the key to what triggered the inferno, and are due to investigate the causes of the blaze once the fires have been extinguished and the site is accessible to forensic experts.

While much of the forensic evidence is expected to have perished in the blaze, police and HSE investigators are relying on the accounts of staff, oil tanker drivers, and surviving CCTV footage could hold vital clues.
