Council overtime easily organised with up to four different pay bands per shift

An under-fire council has gone public on its financial strategy options, which include dropping wage rises for its top staff. Also up for discussion is dismissing the senior employees at Caerphilly council and offering to re-engage them on their previous terms and conditions. The authority has already been plagued by protests over the £27,000 pay rise for its chief executive and tonight (Thursday, January 17) it holds a special meeting on whether it should scrap this increase.
