A football club will this weekend do the supporting for a change as it pledges allegiance to an ailing local train firm. Players of Derby County FC will go on the pitch against Birmingham City wearing T-shirts during the warm-up and workers at the firm Bombardier will carry a large banner on to the pitch. Children of Bombardier workers will be mascots at the match. Bombardier recently received a blow when the government said a rival bid offered tax-payers better value.
