Motorists were seen at the nation’s petrol stations ‘panic buying’ after being advised by the government to top up their tanks. Queues formed at many forecourts yesterday (Thursday) as demand for fuel rose. Conciliation concern Acas says it hopes talks between employers and unions will happen shortly after Monday. Analysts say this makes Easter strikes unlikely because the unions have to give seven days' notice.
