Fire roll call systems can streamline office buildings’ evacuation

T5023U USB Fire Roll Call Printer

Fire roll call systems can help streamline the evacuation of office buildings in emergency situations, such as the one that has recently affected a Mayfair office block, which was evacuated due to a carbon monoxide leak that has left five people in hospital.

Hedge fund managers, art experts and property developers were all evacuated from the Grade II listed office at 9 Clifford Street after investigators found high levels of the dangerous gas, which is odourless, emanating from a faulty boiler.

Ten people fled a basement conference room after reporting a smell of chemicals before firefighters ordered a further 50 people to leave the £38million office block on the upmarket street just off Savile Row, a news report has revealed.

Other workers on the street were instructed by the Fire Brigade to stay inside their buildings or escape from any rear facing exits during the commotion.

Tensor fire roll call systems – the perfect solution for emergency situations when staff evacuation is required

Safety is ensured when Tensor clocks and Access Control units are linked into your company’s fire alarm system to trigger a fast, automated fire evacuation list.

The T8526 can control up to two printers for evacuation reporting purposes. On activation of a fire alarm panel, automatic roll-call reports are printed listing the names and departments of cardholders who remain on-site. In addition, doors can be configured to open automatically on fire alarm activation and lock automatically once the fire alarm activation condition has ceased.

Reports can be grouped by a cardholder’s default resident fire point or by the fire point that they are currently booked on to. Printers are connected either via a direct cable connection or by direct IP and can be limited to reporting upon specific zones or fire points.

Muster points can also be installed where cardholders scan upon arrival at a Muster point. In real-time, Tensor.NET Access removes the cardholder from the fire roll-call report to provide a real-time roll call of any cardholders who remain in the building.
