Fire Roll Call Systems Are a Must to Ensure an Efficient Evacuation In Emergency Situations

Installing a fire roll call system to complement a building's access control or time and attendance systems can streamline a potential emergency evacuation, such as the one caused by a fire. This is exactly the type of situation that has recently occurred in Ingoldmells, where emergency services rushed to the fire at a ground floor shop of a three-storey building in Sea Lane.

Staff within Buddies Family Show Bar on the top of the building had to evacuate as the fire at the shop took hold while holidaymakers staying in caravans just metres away had to leave their beds and gather to a point of safety, a recent news report in the local media has been able to suggest.

At its height, the fire was tackled by 20 firefighters from four different stations, including both Skegness full time and retained crews as well as other crews from Wainfleet, Alford and Boston.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Station Manager Steve Moore said: "The swift action of the staff meant it was quickly evacuated. It was quite busy at the time."

Reports can be grouped by a cardholder's default resident fire point or by the fire point that they are currently booked on to. Printers are connected either via a direct cable connection or by direct IP and can be limited to reporting upon specific zones or fire points.

Muster points can also be installed where cardholders scan upon arrival at a Muster point. In real-time, Tensor.NET Access removes the cardholder from the fire roll-call report to provide a real-time roll call of any cardholders who remain in the building.
