Improving building site security is something every company in the construction sector should seriously consider following the Hatton Garden incident, where robbers apparently used two diamond tipped drills stolen from a building site in the City of London last year, according to police sources.
Drills that were identical to the model used in the Hatton Garden raid, along with drill bits and other cutting equipment, were stolen from a building site on Fetter Lane on December 1, a news report into this matter has been able to reveal.
The drills were designed to cut through concrete and steel and are highly specialist pieces of equipment, with and only a few hundred people in the UK being trained to operate it.
