Majority of small and medium enterprises plan to invest in Q3, survey reveals

Small and medium enterprises across the North West are planning to invest in new technology and equipment, staff recruitment and management, as well as staff training in Q3, 2014, a survey carried out by Bibby Financial Services (BFS) was able to reveal.

The company polled 1,000 businesses with a turnover of up to £25 as part of its SME Tracker and found that an impressive 57 percent of small and medium firms in the region plan to invest in the three months up to October.

A quarter of companies (25 per cent) plan to invest in technology and equipment, nearly a fifth (18 per cent) said they will recruit new staff and more than one in five (24 per cent) are looking to invest in current employee training.

Furthermore, when asked about expectations for the months ahead, 50 per cent said they expect to achieve sales growth and only seven per cent foresee a decline in orders in the three months leading up to October.
