Cable theft has this week caused transport delays in many parts of south-east England. Rail services in Essex and Cambridgeshire were severely hit after overhead power cables were stolen. Network Rail said the theft affected other overhead lines, some of which came down in Essex late on Wednesday (September 21). The Stansted Express and Broxbourne to Cambridge services have been suspended, National Express East Anglia said. The company added it did not expect trains to run until 13:00 BST.
