Personnel management systems are the ideal tool for monitoring staff performance

NHS

Personnel management systems can help companies and organizations improve their staff’s overall performance and productivity levels. The need for such systems is especially dire across the NHS, where performance levels have dropped over the past couple of years.

A recent report by The King’s Fund found that, in the most recent quarter (Q3 2014/15) 7.4 per cent of patients, compared to a target of 5 per cent, had to wait longer than four hours in A&E before they were seen. This is a 47 per cent increase on the previous quarter. Linked to this, the report found that between 2010 and 2014 the number of NHS staff reporting they felt unwell due to work-related stress increased by 9 percentage points to 38 per cent.

Further analysis by The King’s Fund revealed an NHS seriously weakened by low morale. Although 68 per cent of staff admitted they would feel secure about raising any concerns they had about medical practice to managers, only 57 per cent felt confident their concerns would actually be addressed. The think tank added that for NHS trust finance directors “staff morale remains at the top of their list of concerns, along with the four-hour A&E wait”.

Tensor offers advanced Personnel management systems

Advanced staffing, personnel management systems and time and attendance solutions play an important part in the overall management of hospitals. By sharing employee-related information across multiple units (hospitals) in an organization (NHS Trust), patients will benefit from greater consistency in care and healthcare organizations will realize improved staff engagement and a reduction in labor costs.

Additionally, time and attendance systems provide the data required for organizations to better manage both tactically as well as providing a future view of workforce requirements based on the strategic plans of the organization.

Last, but certainly not least, human resources modules implemented across T&A systems enabled HR departments to manage the available talent pool and keep employees engaged and satisfied by providing them with incentives that go beyond salary, such as continuing education and tuition assistance.

Tensor offers a comprehensive range of workforce monitoring and management options, that can be used by NHS trusts in order to staff at optimal levels, match roles with patient requirements, improve employee satisfaction and also elevate the overall level of care delivered.
