Police force set to implement facial recognition CCTV system

Tensor – experts in CCTV maintenance, systems takeover, design and deployment

A police force has revealed plans to implement a facial recognition CCTV system in a bid to improve their efficiency and identify criminals and terrorists faster and easier than before, a news report has been able to reveal.

Police officials in Hyderabad, India, explained that the city already has a robust network of CCTV cameras, so it’s mostly a matter of implementing the software to analyse the images coming through.

Scans of individuals committing any kind of offence could then be compared against a database of known or suspected offenders, allowing the police to detect a crime and potentially identify its perpetrator almost immediately.

Facial recognition CCTV systems are becoming increasingly popular with law-enforcement agencies around the world, many of which decide to implement such systems.

Tensor – your first choice for implementing facial recognition CCTV technologies

Tensor has an extensive experience in installing CCTV systems and commissioning comprehensive video management solutions for large multi-site facilities. Our expertise and technical know-how enables us to easily integrate video surveillance into other security systems including ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition), Access Control and Facial Recognition to name a few, in order to enhance and improve the security and efficiency at your site.

Tensor face biometrics are used to identify users from access control lists and verify their identity. Our access control solution facilitates user management at runtime and allows users to be enrolled on-the-fly by video capture.

This technology yields excellent performance despite partial occlusions of the face, the use of glasses, scarves or caps, changes of facial expression, and moderate rotations of the face. Moreover, it does not allow users to be impersonated using photographs. Tensor biometric technology is the perfect solution to control the access of personnel to restricted security areas.
