Well-known telecom company Easynet has revealed plans to open a new centre of excellence in Shepton Mallet, where it will relocate its customer service operation from London. Following this move, the company’s set to create no less than 70 new jobs.

According to a news report, the new centre is tobring together all UK customer operations functions including sales support, billing and collections, service delivery and service assurance.

Adrian Thirkill, Easynet’s UK managing director, said: “We have a long and happy history with Shepton Mallet and the surrounding area, so investing in a new Centre of Excellence here was an easy decision to make. The creation of 70 jobs is great news for the South West, particularly in this challenging economic climate.”
