The London 2012 Olympic Games has been tagged a triumph of human resources. The organisation of the Games required the overseeing of more than 200,000 people at various locations. The HR director of London 2012, Jean Tomlin, said her motivation was “to deliver the most outstanding games that people in the UK could be proud of in the eyes of the world.” She surrounded herself with HR professionals and spoke of a “one team ethos” approach for employees, contractors and volunteers.
