Unique skills can help contracts earn more than £1,500 per day, research reveals
Contractors who posses unique skills that are highly thought after in particular industry segments could earn up to £1,500 per day for their services, research conducted by contractor support providers Von Essen was able to reveal.
The report pointed out that seven out of the 10 highest paid contractor assignments are spread across the oil and gas, financial services and IT sectors. The highest daily rate is £2,140 for a drilling superintendent in Tanzania, while the highest paid UK-based roles are group finance director positions, with a typical daily rate of £1,750.
A Von Essen representative commented on the findings published in the report:
“These people can step in at a moment’s notice and take on mission-critical roles, which require a very specific, highly sought-after skill set,” they said. “Five years ago £1,000 a day was seen as the upper end of the spectrum for contractors.”
