Fire roll call systems ensure health and safety on industrial estates
Fire roll call systems should be an essential provision for every industrial estate or facility, as they could potentially save the lives of every single member of staff on the premises in case of a serious blaze.
This could have also been the case on an industrial estate in Upper Edmonton, where more than 50 firefighters have been called in to tackle a massive fire yesterday evening.
The fire started on the Eley industrial estate, but, luckily, no injuries have been reported and the extent of the damage is yet to be determined.
Station manager Jim Morford said: “Crews are working to contain the fire and we are making good progress. However, this is likely to be a protracted incident.”
Time and attendance and access control systems developed by Tensor can be integrated with fire roll call systems and software to ensure health and safety at schools, factories or offices. As employees assemble at their fire roll call points, they use their proximity read smart cards or key fobs to record their presence.
If employees have not brought their cards or fobs with them, they can be checked off manually using the generated reports that are printed off automatically. The cards grant exit in a quarter of a second.
What makes the Tensor Fire Roll Call Systems different from most of the other available on the market is the fact that the Fire Roll Call feature is executed directly from the clocking stations and does not rely on the controlling PC or computer infrastructure. This makes it a lot safer, since the aforementioned IT systems might also be severely affected in case of an emergency.
