The Job

The Tensor Helpdesk, based at our offices in Hail Weston in Cambridgeshire, are responsible for providing customers with advice, guidance and technical support on our Time & Attendance and Access Control products.

The daily tasks of a Helpdesk Technician are wide and varied but core responsibilities are:

  • Providing world-class technical support to customers via e-mail, phone & the online customer portal.
  • Providing first and second line user guidance & technical support to customers using our hardware and software.
  • Logging customer queries and problems in the Helpdesk Management system.
  • Liaising with other internal departments regarding identifying resolutions to outstanding problems and queries.
  • Ensuring customers are kept up to date with the progress of outstanding items.

Applicants

The ideal candidate for the role will have :

  • Previous experience in a technical support or Helpdesk role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A can-do attitude and customer focused approach.
  • Pro-active, self-motivated and forward thinking.
  • A good technical understanding of PCs, Windows and Networking.
  • Experience of Microsoft SQL would be advantageous.
  • Attention to detail and methodical in their approach.

The Helpdesk Technicians position with Tensor involves an initial introductory period of 6 weeks, during this time you will be expected through a combination of training sessions, self-learning and shadowing other members of the team to become well versed with the hardware and software products that Tensor offer in both Time & Attendance and Access Control. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, keen, hardworking individual who is willing to learn and wants to provide “World Class” support for our customers.

Salary

  • Salary £18,000 to £23,000 per annum (dependent upon experience).

The Job

HeatingSave is part of Tensor plc & specialises in the design, manufacture, installation & maintenance of energy management systems. See www.heatingsave.co.uk for more information.

The Installations Engineer position with HeatingSave involves an initial training period of 4 weeks where the engineer is expected to become very familiar with products that comprise our HeatingSave Small Business version to full Enterprise solution plus monitoring/metering solutions.

They will be expected to understand all HeatingSave products down to finished part level, to test these, diagnose faults and make necessary repairs, although in the field they will usually replace faulty parts at board level/finished part.

It is expected that the Engineer will be already familiar with commercial/domestic heating systems. During the training period the engineer will learn how to install HeatingSave firmware and software upon a variety of "Windows" based PCs and network systems.

After the initial training, the Engineer will form part of an installation team where they will install and service equipment in the field. This will involve the installation of the physical HeatingSave Control units/ monitoring systems, together with cabling work, ducting, and the installation 3G/WiFi/Lan.

Within a short time the engineer is expected to undertake initial site surveys, install equipment unaided, commission systems and hand them over to the customer. They will also be expected to diagnose faults and make repairs on site.

Applicants

The role is field based & therefore, the candidate is expected to be available to travel throughout the UK with occasional overnight stays. Applications are invited from experienced engineers with a Commercial Heating experience and or 17th Ed.

Applicants must:

  • Have a sound previous experience in installations.
  • Be hard working & self-motivated, willing to travel within the UK and be available to work on a 24/7 call-out.
  • Have a good knowledge of PCs within a "Windows" environment
  • Be able to develop your personal skills in dealing with people
  • Hold a current driving license

Required experience:

  • Heating Control systems or BMS/BEMS: 2 years

  • High school or equivalent

The Job

Tensor is currently seeking to hire a CCTV/Access Control Sales Consultant. The role is mainly office based at Tensor's HQ although you will be expected to travel to any part of the UK and Ireland if required. You will be responsible for selling, specifying and completing Tenders, mainly on our CCTV & Access Control products.

You will initially be fully trained on our products and software systems, after which your job will be to specify and sell our products working within our existing, well established and successful sales framework.​ As new Tensor products become available you will be further trained, so that you have a complete portfolio to offer customers.​ We will also aim to provide the support and encouragement to help you to succeed.​

This is a unique career opportunity for a hard-working, “go getter” type person who has the ability and confidence to keep Tensor the major player in the Time & Attendance, Access Control and security related market.

Applicants

Potential applicants must have a proven sales track record and already be in sales either as a successful sales executive selling software/hardware solutions or a salesman selling PC’s and software to business with one of the well known high street PC outlets, and who wants to move to a field based role. In either case you must have a proven track record and have a thorough knowledge of all aspects of PC technology and PC networks, plus a clear understanding of how to exploit the marketplace.

You will be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of PC’s and be a good communicator. Previous experience of either selling, completing and winning tenders or installing CCTV and Access Control system is an advantage particularly if these were to a NSI NACOSS Gold standard.​

  • Have a proven track record in software/hardware sales
  • Be hard-working, proactive, self-motivated and willing to travel within the UK
  • Have an excellent knowledge of PCs within a "Windows" environment & network infrastructure
  • Have good personal skills in dealing with people

Salary

£22,000 – £24,000+ per year + 5% commission (un-capped) + car, laptop, mobile phone, etc. Expected annual earnings with commission of £40,000+ per annum. A private pension is available.​

The Job

The Web Application Developer position within Tensor primarily involves designing, writing and testing mobile & PHP based applications, both new projects and modifications to existing software. You will be working within a small team of professional and expert developers designing world class Energy Management and Smart Card security systems. The entire process is conducted in-house. The products that you design will help our customers to lower their energy / fuel bills and improve their security, whilst at the same time cutting greenhouse gasses and helping to keep the planet a greener place and safer for future generations.

You will also be developing software for mobile devices. You will be involved in the whole project life-cycle (i.e. design, code, test, documentation, etc), work from a specification to design and build applications using the relevant technologies.

You will be based at our development centre in Hail Weston in Cambridgeshire. The team is highly skilled, highly motivated and hard working. They pride themselves in producing bug-free, World-Class software on time and to schedule.
