Edinburgh is the scene of both the arrests and court appearances of the men. All access control software supplied by Tensor is packed with features allowing you to successfully implement and maintain a top level security system for your site, office or building. Personalised smart cards available complete with photograph and company logo

Senior staff fear redundancies at Central Scotland Police are unavoidable because of deep cuts to the force's budget. Plans have been drawn up for the potential loss of 80 civilian posts and 48 police officers. A recent spending review prepared by Chief Constable Kevin Smith outlined two scenarios – one with a 23 per cent cut in officer numbers if an old employment regulation can be used, and a reduction of 13% if it cannot. Unions are likely to strongly resist plans to lay off staff in a compulsory way. A variety of smart cards (including dual interface cards) can be used to operate both your Tensor access control and time and attendance system if you so require. All smart cards supplied by Tensor can be customised to fit in with your corporate identity. Dye sublimation printers are used to print high quality images onto adhesive labels for sticking onto your smart cards. This means that each employee at your organisation can have a personalised smart card complete with photograph and company logo.

Infra red detectors for all light conditions can be added to CCTV body cameras

DI Tudor Thomas said police are keen to speak to a man seen on CCTV footage walking with a young woman in the Cathays area of Cardiff before she was attacked. DI Thomas said: "We are keen to identify the individual on CCTV and we would ask him, or anyone who recognises him, to contact South Wales Police. This incident has left the young woman extremely upset and [she] describes it as the worst thing that has ever happened to her.” Tensor’s affiliated company CCTV Surveillance is able to use a range of technologies to give your organisation what it needs for effective digital CCTV camera protection, whether it is required for one or multiple sites. Infra red detectors, which are popular since they can see in all light conditions, can be added to digital CCTV body cameras. These evidence quality cameras require a lens to be attached to them and these generally have to be bought separately, but this allows you to choose the best lens for your needs.

Night shifts simple to define with WinTA personnel software

Jobs will be lost as a result of the £14 billion St Athan national defence training academy being axed as part of defence cuts. First Minister Carwyn Jones, answering questions in the assembly from Welsh Liberal Democrat leader Kirsty Williams, said cutting the South Wales project was a "betrayal of the people of Wales," adding: "What is expensive is the seven years of work that we have put in here to working with the UK Government to the delivery of the defence training academy. It has been ripped out from underneath our feet – 4,000 jobs will be lost to Wales as a result.” The time and attendance software for all Tensor systems provides quick and easy access to information, which ensures you get the most out of your personnel. You can create a wide range of daily working patterns or shifts, with either fixed or flexitime rules with our state-of-the-art WinTA network. Durable Tensor key fobs can be read an infinite number of times

Police are chasing a three-strong gang who stole a sizeable four-figure sum during a weekend robbery in which a mobile phone was also stolen. The phone belonged to a male employee of a golf club in Surrey. The man had been restrained with cable ties, which luckily did not cause any serious injury to the victim. Members of the public can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 with any information. A combination of robustness, accuracy and speed has placed our Tensor key fob access control systems at the forefront of secure, reliable access control systems. They operate using well-proven and reliable RF (Radio Frequency) technology, which gives a constant read range and is unaffected by most external conditions. It also means that there is no onboard battery, so theoretically, each key fob has an infinite life and can be read an infinite number of times. When placed within range of your access control scanner, the key fob will be read in under ½ second. It allows for fast throughput of employees, especially useful at peak periods.

Employees can change shifts in advance with clocking software

Thousands of people attended a rally arranged by the Scottish Trades Union Congress in Edinburgh to demonstrate against public sector cuts. The protest was to highlight the UK government's fiscal tightening, which heralds the most stringent cuts since the Second World War and threatens thousands of public sector jobs. George Samson, of the Dundee Pensioners Forum, said: "We're here to defend public services. Pensioners depend on these services, and these cuts that are forthcoming are going to affect us adversely." Our smart card clocking and software recording systems are unsurpassed at collecting accurate and reliable time and attendance clocking data, which will aid your firm or organisation in becoming leaner, fitter and more profitable. There are numerous extra features that can be implemented on your time and attendance system to take into account diversity with working rules between different organisations. For example, in Auto Clockout employees are automatically clocked out at a certain time. The Shift Swapping function means that employees may have their shift for a particular day changed in advance.

Low cost T3512 one scanner system ideal for compact access control

CCTV released by South Wales Police shows how a staff member in a Llandaff store was threatened by a man and forced to hand over cash. Officers want to speak to a man who bought the same type of mask the robber was wearing. Although the masks are widely available, officers wish to eliminate this man from their enquiries. Llandaff councillor Kirsty Davies expressed concern for staff at the store because they are “quite young.” She added: “I just really think it’s horrendous for staff and maybe they need to get tighter security.” For small scale but top quality access control, the T3512 Low Cost One Scanner System is the solution. Installing a T3512 door access system is just the beginning to providing your organisation with a platform and route for installing other Tensor products such as digital CCTV. The modem facility within the T3511 enables you to install a simple system at a remote graphical location where there is only power and a phone line. The T3512 system comes with everything you need to start controlling door access right out of the box.

Enterprise edition personnel system has no employee limits

Sandwell Council in Birmingham has defended its handling of an arts centre which has gone over budget. Council leader Darren Cooper said: “In the medium term financial plan, the council has allocated £1.5m for The Public per annum,” referring to the centre. “It is not anticipated that this will change in the next financial year. However, the council has yet to set its budget for 2011/12 and this allocation will be reviewed before the budget is finalised. In the past we have only given the management £1.1m. The £1m we currently get each year from the Arts Council is in addition to this.” Tensor is skilled and experienced in the world of human resources and time and attendance. Tensor security gives crime a ghost of a chance this Halloween

Police are urging the public to give criminals a ghost of a chance to strike this Halloween, which takes place on Sunday (October 31, as if you didn’t know). Officers warn that dark afternoons and evenings can provide extra cover for criminals seeking out empty homes to target. They say leaving a light on can keep burglars guessing on whether your home is occupied and encourage them to give it a wide berth. Recent research involving interviews with convicted burglars supports this simple tactic as an effective deterrent to thieves. Tensor security products will help banish crime on Halloween. As well as access control systems our affiliated company CCTV Surveillance supplies and maintains digital quality CCTV Surveillance, from one camera to an entire network. Your office or site is protected with Tensor Access, which controls your car park barriers, turnstiles, site entrance gates, electronic door locks, and almost any other electronic mechanism that powers a physical security device. There is seamless interfacing to our other systems of Attendance Monitoring, Visitor Control and Personnel.

PC Clock requires no separate time and attendance network

Record numbers of primary school children skipped lessons without permission last year. The Department for Education has revealed that the number of primary age youngsters skipping class continues to rise. The figures show that primary pupils skipped 0.68 per cent of half days, up from 0.65% for the same terms in 2008/09, and 0.52% three years ago in 2006/07. The statistics suggest that 22,700 primary pupils missed class on a typical school day in 2009/10 through truancy, family holidays, illness and other reasons. Tensor makes life easier for parents, teachers and pupils in attaining better attendance records at school through its Time and Attendance technology. Tensor’s smart cards and software provides the fastest and safest method of recording attendance, while features like Fire Roll Call can be integrated into the attendance monitoring system to ensure the little ones are safe in an emergency. We even have a basic but tried-and-tested attendance system called PC Clock that requires no separate time and attendance network – pupils simply log on via a computer.
