Tensor installs toilet turnstile at famous Trocadero Centre

Tensor plc has supplied a coin operated toilet turnstile to the world-famous Trocadero Centre near Westminster. One half height turnstile, which combines speed and reliability, has been installed at the London entertainment centre, which contains amusement arcades, a cinema, and much more. The toilet turnstile has a coin slot so that people can pay a nominal fee to enter – and this function also serves as a useful audit trail, so that management can monitor customer flow at the busy Piccadilly venue, especially with Christmas on the horizon. Tensor sales director Robert Cochrane said: “I’m pleased that an internationally famous building like the Trocadero Centre has recognised the quality of our toilet turnstiles,” adding that the Trocadero is due to replace an old toilet turnstile with another one of Tensor’s. Tensor has a good track record in supplying technology to a high-end leisure complex, as our turnstiles have already been installed in the West 12 Shopping Centre, located at Shepherds Bush Green in London. All of our turnstiles are covered by a two year warranty.

Access control software can operate site gates or doors

A company faces a hefty fine after four men were found illegally working on its premises. If the employer, Sher Foods, is unable to provide evidence that legally-required checks were carried out before giving the jobs to illegal workers, up to £10,000 will be imposed for each offender. David Griffiths, head of the UK Border Agency's north Wales local immigration team, said more operations to tackle immigration offenders were planned. "Illegal working has a serious impact on communities, taking jobs from those who are genuinely allowed to work," he said. Tensor access control and visitor control products give you total control over employee access plus the ability to register and monitor any contractors or visitors to your premises. Access control software can control your site’s gates, doors or barriers. The WinACnet software, the latest in our proven range of Windows™ systems, creates alarm messages when predetermined actions take place, or if a forced entry occurs. These alarms are immediately emailed to a specified address. Optionally a warning email can be sent if communications to the PC are lost.

Keep property crime down with Tensor CCTV security

Official figures reveal that offending across England and Wales is at its lowest level since 1981 – in the last year it fell by 8 per cent. Home Office chief statistician David Blunt said improved security measures, including alarms, better door and window locks as well as vehicle immobilisers are responsible for falling property crime. He said the trend has been reflected in many other developed countries during the same period. Mr Blunt said: "There is no single definitive explanation and it seems likely that a number of different factors have contributed in different ways." Investing in a CCTV Surveillance camera and recording system will give you a better than even chance of avoiding being a victim of property crime at your home or business. Our digital CCTV evidence quality systems are custom-made, installed and looked after exactly to your requirements, whether you want one camera or a whole network, and are available for indoor and outdoor environments, or day and night shooting. We also offer technology from other members of the Tensor group of security companies dealing with smart card access control.

Interior or exterior turnstiles can boost council coffers

A public-spirited council is giving new life to a run-down ‘WC’ building. The local authority in charge of a 1930s toilet block at Gullane in south-east Scotland pledged to improve the facility, which was in a poor state of repair. Ruth Currie, cabinet member for community wellbeing at East Lothian, said that the new facilities will meet modern standards. No doubt the local council is aware of the improved trade and tourism prospects that towns enjoy when public toilet facilities remain. Tensor plc supplies coin operated toilet turnstiles for both interior and exterior installations, allowing money to be raised for their maintenance to aid cash-strapped councils or private companies. The turnstiles are manufactured from graded stainless steel for ease of cleaning and maintenance and are duty cycle rated for intensive use. The turnstiles can cope with severe operating conditions. The separate coin box can be mounted either in front of the turnstile, at the side or alternatively can be wall mounted with the cash box at the rear, giving a huge range of configurable options.

Bar coded visitor pass prevents document fraud at your site

Fake tickets for concerts and events, advertised for little more than face value, are being used to fleece millions of pounds. Consumers are told by fraudsters to claim the money back from their banks for the ‘unavailable’ items. Under the Lending Code, which most UK banks have signed up to, innocent victims of fraud on debit or credit cards will not suffer any financial loss unless they have acted negligently. Cunning fraudsters will even buy sponsored online links, to make it look like what they are ‘selling’ is genuine. So that your company is not taken in by fake documents, Tensor offers a low cost PC computer based Visitor Management and Visitor Pass production system that controls, records and monitors the arrivals and departures of an organisation’s visitors and contractors. On arrival at a site, a full colour photograph is taken and personal details are recorded and digitally stored. Once the details are safely stored within the PC, an inexpensive bar coded pass is then issued containing a photograph, name and validation dates.

How to automatically clock an employee out if no clockings are made

An MP expressed her concern at a hospital authority’s publicly-available five-year plan which sets out how bosses will change health care to reduce unnecessary hospital admissions. Newcastle Central MP Chi Onwurah said that while she supports the need for more frontline care, NHS North of Tyne had to be clear about what could be achieved and what the reasons are for losing “around one in eight beds”. This also in some areas means one in ten job losses, or more than 150 posts being axed. Within hours of Tensor’s WinTAnet smart card time and attendance network being installed it can dramatically improve your human resources management with features that provide you with total control over your operation. From simple determination of overtime by the number of daily hours worked to the more complex payment of overtime hours adjusted when periodic targets are not met, the software can supply working rules to calculate the correct result. The optional auto-clockout feature allows the system to automatically clock an employee out at a specified time if no clockings are made.

No dead time is stored on dedicated digital video recorder

Despite issuing redundancy notices in the summer and facing government reductions in funding by 20%, Durham Police Authority says that front-line policing is a priority. The force must deal with £17.5m of cuts over the next four years. Peter Thompson, of the Police Authority, said of these "challenging" times: "It is now more important than ever that our diminishing resources are managed strategically, getting value for money in all areas.” He continued: "Residents of County Durham and Darlington can be assured that front-line policing continues to be a priority for the authority." Tensor plc and its associates are the experts at providing security solutions for all sizes of sites. Your CCTV tracking cameras, alarms, electronic gates, shutters and warning hooters can all be configured to our smart card access control network. The CCTV footage generated by our camera networks is recorded on a dedicated digital video recorder, which can be located either onsite or offsite. Triggered by motion detectors or movement on a CCTV camera, the DVR only records footage of activity so no "dead time" is unnecessarily stored.

No limit on the number of employees registered on access control network

Pupils faced being taught in temporary buildings for at least a week following some youths breaking into a school, stealing items and causing extensive fire damage. Stirling Council said parents would be notified of the changes of venue at East Plean Primary School, Scotland. The school and nursery were already scheduled to be closed for three days for staff training. A council spokesperson added that the damage looked "pretty bad". One boy has already been arrested, while a 15-year-old boy charged in connection with the break-in, but not the fire, was referred to the children's panel. Large or small buildings, multi-site or one-door secure entry, Tensor Access.NET systems deal with it all. Suitable for any organisation, the Lite / Enterprise range is capable of controlling a network across borders and even continents. The T340x series of high speed access control clocking stations use smart card technology to scan your access control card. By simply presenting your smart card to within 100mm to 150mm of the smart card scanner it is automatically read. There is no limit on the number of employees registered.

Task Tensor with simple upgrade from analogue to digital CCTV system

The CCTV market is tipped by a leading security intelligence body to make a big recovery within the next couple of years. Its latest report says the construction industry, which is a vital sector in determining the growth of CCTV, is growing as the economy recovers. “The Construction Skills Network predicts that, from 2011, a slow return to growth will be seen in the UK construction industry,” says Key Note, adding it expects “the market to demonstrate the most positive growth in 2012 and 2013.” As your business returns to growth and profit, now is the perfect time to upgrade your security with Tensor and its affiliated company CCTV Surveillance Ltd. CCTV digital evidence quality cameras and recording systems can be stand-alone or they are an ideal addition to our smart card and biometric access control networks. If you already have an analogue CCTV system installed at your site, you may only require a simple upgrade of some of the elements in order to adopt a digital CCTV system. All digital CCTV systems supplied by Tensor plc are fully compliant with the UK police requirements.

Tensor can keep your home secure in the heat wave

As we currently bask in a hot summer spell it is tempting to leave windows open to cool the house down. But this is leading to a spate of burglaries. For example, thieves fled in a green Golf after stealing the keys from a home in Drayton, Hampshire, overnight. The car was later found abandoned with a punctured tyre on the nearby M275. Seventeen break-ins happened in one area in two days when temperatures peaked. Police warn that homes with alleyways at the side or back are particularly vulnerable. Residents are being urged to make sure windows and doors are properly locked every time they leave the house, go into the garden or to bed. Tensor plc can help residents with a range of security devices. We are the top UK installer and maintenance service provider of digital CCTV camera and recording surveillance systems, using the right equipment for your requirements and needs, manufactured by Panasonic, Wavestore and many more. Our camera lenses are high quality construction for smooth adjustment and long service life. We also install contactless smart card access control systems which power any electronic door, barrier or gate you choose – these systems are especially effective for larger buildings or sites.

Time and attendance system provides improved efficiency at work

Members of the Trades Union Congress rallied at two north-east venues, Newcastle and Sunderland, to demonstrate concern at thousands of public sector workers facing unemployment in the north. The Unison union released a statement which said the deficit-busting UK Spending Review will have detrimental effects on both the public and private sector, adding: "There are real alternatives: clamping down on the tax dodgers and getting the banks to pay their fair share towards the recovery by imposing a Robin Hood Tax would raise billions." Tensor Time and Attendance Systems are leading the way in providing savings and efficiency improvements on payroll and staff overheads. With the simple use of a key fob or smart card, employees book time against their jobs to produce a fully costed analysis and break down of time spent on each one. The built-in report generator makes it simple to get the information you need from the system. WinTA software reports show jobs that are near their budget limit. Standard reports include: Weekly Clock Card, Payroll Summary, Absence Summary, Exceptions, Job Booking, and Working Time Directive Compliance.
