A company faces a hefty fine after four men were found illegally working on its premises. A public-spirited council is giving new life to a run-down ‘WC’ building. Police tracked down a criminal gang who moved from region to region in order to evade capture. The group roamed the west, north-west and Wales to rob cash machines, shops and homes. Pupils faced being taught in temporary buildings for at least a week following some youths breaking into a school, stealing items and causing extensive fire damage. Stirling Council said parents would be notified of the changes of venue at East Plean Primary School, Scotland. Members of the Trades Union Congress rallied at two north-east venues, Newcastle and Sunderland, to demonstrate concern at thousands of public sector workers facing unemployment in the north.
