ievo Biometric Fingerprint Readers

ievo biometric readers for businesses

Biometric access control solutions deliver improved security, lower operational costs and superior convenience for our customers. We achieve this by using the most advanced and innovative portfolio of technologies, products and solutions available on the market.

ievo biometric fingerprint readers use advanced imaging technologies to capture a highly accurate reading of fingerprint data. Providing a quick, simple and cost-effective solution, the recognition devices can be integrated into existing Tensor customer systems, but can also become significant draw factors for new customers interested in deploying a highly secure and reliable biometric access control or biometric time and attendance system.

The ievo range offers a choice of two fingerprint readers:

  • ievo Ultimate: certified for Government use in the UK by the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI), is a robust reader for both internal and external use that’s ideal for high-footfall sites that can be subjected to extreme weather conditions, such as construction sites, airports, hospitals, etc.
  • ievo Micro: designed strictly for indoor use, provides an affordable biometric solution to installations that do not demand the full range of benefits that the ievo Ultimate offers, such as offices, housing developments, commercial outlets and personal home use

Both fingerprint readers seamlessly integrate into the Tensor WinAC.NET Access Control and the Tensor WinTA.NET Time and Attendance platforms. The ievo registration software package has been fully integrated into the Tensor.NET platform, meaning that existing and prospective customers will not require a separate software application for fingerprint enrolment.

ievo Ultimate Fingerprint Reader

The ievo reader can successfully scan a fingerprint image through levels of dust, dirt, oils, creams and even some latex gloves. Plus, its liveness detection feature protects against fake and spoof fingerprints by differentiating between live human fingerprints as opposed to false prints made from synthetic materials.

The ievo Ultimate is IP65 rated, making it ideal for external use in environments where water, dust and dirt are common hazards. The vandal-resistant (IK10, in-house certified) casing of the reader makes the reader perfect for protecting access from external entry points and high-security internal space.

In colder environments, the ievo Ultimate makes use of a heat and humidity sensor which allows continued operation in temperatures as low as -20°C (and as high as 70°C). Offering mounting options the reader can be positioned flush or surfaced mounted both internally and externally, without having to be always encased in a protective box. The ievo Ultimate does not activate any relays or controllers to open entry points, meaning that removal of a device will not expose your security protocols.

ievo Ultimate – Key Features

  • Algorithm identification <1 second
  • 1:N matching up to 10,000 fingerprint templates (50,000 option available)
  • Designed for external and internal use
  • IP65 rated for harsh environmental deployment
  • Multispectral imaging sensor – will successfully scan the fingerprint image through levels of dust, dirt, oils, creams and even some latex gloves
  • Data transmission AES (128bit) encrypted
  • Data stored on a separate control board with template storage AES (256bit) encrypted
  • Seamless integration with the Tensor.NET Time and Attendance and Access Control platforms
  • Activated by proximity detection
  • LED and audio indications
  • Wiegand, clock AND data and TCP/IP outputs
  • Anti-tamper and vandal resistant
  • Built-in environmental controls; heater and humidity sensor for external use
  • Spoof detection functionality – prevents the use of fake or spoof fingerprints

ievo Micro Indoor Fingerprint Reader

The ievo Micro was designed from the outset as a third party reader, capable of seamlessly integrating into the Tensor.NET Time and Attendance and Access Control platforms. The ievo Micro was introduced to provide an affordable biometric solution to specific installations that did not demand the full range of benefits that the ievo Ultimate offers.

Designed for internal use, the Micro uses a powerful optical imaging sensor to provide accurate and reliable fingerprint authentication. It uses a powerful optical imaging sensor and can be mullion mounted, meaning it can be installed onto most standard door frames.

With a standard template range of up to 10,000 fingerprints (larger capacity options are available) and customisable options, the Micro reader is ideal for internal deployment in offices, housing developments, commercial outlets and personal home use.

The ievo system functions with a separate control board which controls the ievo Micro, meaning that no information or data is stored locally on the reader unit itself. Data captured by the optical sensor is transmitted using AES (128bit) encryption, which cannot be reverse-engineered to replicate an actual fingerprint and is only accessed by the ievo control board for identification purposes.

ievo Desktop Reader

The ievo desktop reader is a fast, accurate registration unit providing a simple and non-intrusive way of managing the fingerprint registration process. Designed as a supporting component to work in parallel with ievo Ultimate and/or ievo Micro devices, it takes away the need to enrol users via an active, or in use, product – essential in situations with a high volume of system users.

The ievo desktop reader employs the same multispectral imaging (MSI) technology as the ievo Ultimate fingerprint reader to capture a highly accurate reading of a fingerprint.

The desktop reader itself is small (W:3.25” x L:3.95” x H:2.31”) and lightweight, equipped with a USB interface (also used for powering the device). It seamlessly integrates with the Tensor.NET platform.

ievo Desktop Reader - Key Features

  • Durable high-performance use
  • Timing placement to image 1.0 seconds (typical)
  • 500dpi image resolution
  • Requires minimal maintenance
  • User-friendly and compact design
  • Aids training and reduces registration time
  • USB connection (PC based)
